No, you're right to be upset, seriously.

If I were you, I'd ask for my money back.

Oh no! A repost!

You must try to bravely cllick and move on, doing your best not to weep as you desperately try to convince yourself that your day has not been ruined...

The artificial turf has artificial dirt??? ZOMG!!!

What is the earth-friendly significance of a saltwater pool? Uses less chemicals or something?

I have to say that of all the CHUCK environments, the one I'd most like to live in is the frozen yogurt shop.

Here, let me make your night by commenting on your comment on my comment on your comment!

I posted not because I care about your pedantry (nor about my own) but because a living, breathing human wrote the original post, in which they made the trivial error that you and your hyperalgesic consort pounced on. Paid blogging can be very hard work indeed, with tight time constraints; with deadline pressures, errors become more likely.

Since your investment in this free web site is limited to the time you spend reading it, your only real loss here is the time it took you to parse the error - perhaps a half second?

What you chose to do with that error was to berate someone whose hard work you feel comfortable picking apart - particularly fine sport since you read their work gratis. Since writers tend to take pride in their work, and since the post and its attendant comments are broadcast to a large audience, your decision to punish the loss of a half second of your time with a public harangue feels a bit like bullying to me.

Sweet Jesus, Jesster and Jezebella! Have you nothing better to do than snipe at typos in a blog? Everyone makes the occasional slip, and its/it's is - as you point out - a very common one. As is their/there. Writers do know the difference, but everyone - even you two, one suspects - makes the error from time to time.

Of course, for all the prescriptive advice your posts dole out, their real function is demonstrative pedantry; YOU are on the ball, the writers are not! YOU are so sensitive to poor grammar that a misplaced inverted comma wounds you deeply!

God, life must be a cavalcade of dissatisfactions for the two of yaz!

I like some - the Ingo Maurer one particularly - others I don't like, but I'm no longer EVER surprised by the negative feedback in the AT comments section.

alexarc is right - that West Elm duvet cover is a complete uh hommage to Eileen Fisher's original, and the sheets uh pay tribute to Fisher's "washed linen" sheets. Have a look at the Garnet Hill catalogue for the Fisher original; more money, better quality.

I went to look at this cover at West Elm, but the only one they had out on a display bed was brown, and I didn't want to risk the off-white or whatever it's called looking sucky when on a King bed.

What I'd REALLY like is a duvet cover like this from the Wheatleigh Hotel in Lenox MA:

How is the house looking, azure?

I love this look, and am trying to use it in my new place. I wish I could afford a large Old Master.

Indeed, well done so far!

It seems to me that you have quite a few chairs in such a small place? Do you often have enough people over to fill them? Perhaps a chair or two less.

Would a wall mounted hinged table be an option? When not in use, it could lie flat against the wall. Also with the dining table, instead of chairs, using large ottomans (ottomen?) that could slide under the table when not in use would get you more space.

I have a similar-sized apartment I'm in the process of decorating, but I'm fairly reclusive, and am not expecting many guests, so I'm going to make do with my bed (a European size between a U.S. Queen and a King), an office chair at the desk, and a lounge chair. I'm going to use a console table that I'll custom build (a top of recovered wood wider than a standard console table, but shorter than a dining table, plus a set of stainless steel chair legs).

With a ceiling that height, I wouldn't for a second consider a loft - it'd turn the place into a Terry Gilliam set! Then again, I don't like loft beds - my place has 12 foot ceilings, and I LIKE having 12 food ceilings...

Blueroses, that's INCREDIBLE! How incompetent can she be? Her photos make the place look like a little hideaway purpose-built for sending out mail bombs, whereas it's spacious and elegant and filled with desirable details!

reb may be onto something there.

Either way, you should insist she post photos that show the high ceilings, and the stove, and the amazing deck!

I'm really gobsmacked by the difference between her presentation and yours.

I love this house! I love Belgian interior design! And count me in the Neutral Fan Zone!

This is hardly an all-white house - there's plenty of greys and blues. Besides, white walls make the inhabitants and the contents, uh, "pop" more.

I shall grit my teeth through "Colour Month", not because I don't love colour, but because I burn out on it quickly. I don't use much colour when I decorate because I get sick of it, and am not rich enough in money or time to be selling off stuff and starting from scratch again every year or two.

Haha! I've been having a hate affair with Pacific Blue for the last 18 years! It's the colour they've painted the cast iron parts on my building in NYC, a big red brick carriage garage from the early 1900's. I think it's the teal element in the Pacific Blue that just drives me up the wall; I find it garish and vulgar. The Puck Building, an NYC landmark, has the same paint scheme as mine, and it also makes me wince every time I see it.

I think the grey and Pacific Blue are much better together; the lower photograph on this page is very beautiful, more for the grey than for the blue.

Thanks for teaching me "Pacific Blue" - it's so much easier to hate when you have a name for your hatred!

To end on a positive note: compared to my hatred for teal, my hatred for Pacific Blue almost reads as "love"!
