Are those lucite chairs comfortable to sit on for long periods? I bought a dining table and chairs for the look of them, but can't sit for more than half an hour at a time, because the backs and seats are so hard.

I would love to be able to scroll through images, rather than click on a picture to reload the page. Something like realsimple's website. I don't even mind scrolling down the page.

I just find myself going to AT less often than I used to, because of the way I have to view the images. Also, the thumbnails are tiny; can't tell which ones would be of most interest to me.

Sorry for the rant. Some nice headboards.

I appreciate all the readers' advice, and I can understand the writer of this column has minimal experience with this issue. However, I wish there was some kind of effort put into trying to answer the question. It's easy to blog Martha Stewart, or Real Simple, or some cleaning sites.

I appreciate this site being available to answer these questions, but lately, everyone on AT has just been "sending this out to the readers." Come on, guys. I used to love these blog. Please put some effort into giving us useful information. That's why we ask you.

Sorry about the rant. I actually really love the kitchen blog. It's one of my favourites.

Enamadora, I agree about the thumbnails. I find it inconvenient and disruptive of the flow of my reading. I prefer captions beneath the picture, and not having to scroll up and down.

Most vacs will suck well if you have hard flooring, but my crappy rental has crappy carpet. I've never seen anything stain so easily! So I'm thinking about upgrading my cute small vac (that worked so well on floorboards) to a more powerful canister. I don't know if recommendations offered here are from carpet baggers, or floorboard surfers..

Any help?

Check out this website. Apparently, you can have savoury or sweet ants. Just test with cheese or sugar. Whichever they prefer, mix half-and-half with borax.

polish stainless steel with petroleum jelly, or baby oil. this keeps them shiny and free from fingerprints for ages.

This website has great pics on how to clean chrome. They ended up using foil and vinegar.. The before/after shots are pretty amazing.
