One of the last few issues of the New Yorker had a big thing on Kentridge for anybody looking for a nice primer suitable for bathtub reading.

contrasty window bits, i'd say brick red or brown for starters, then a large piece of art on the wall at the other end of the table. leave the big blank wall (unless the "art" wall is actually larger or there's something off the edge of the photo that matters). after that I'd repaint all the white trim some other color. again it's a little hard to tell without being able to see the surrounding area.

i'm split on the host/ess chairs. i'd want to see what it looks like with chairs on the ends of the table with the 4 in the middle. it looks a bit cramped as it is. is there a leaf (available) for the table to give the 2x3 a bit more space?

I'd be pretty much afraid to touch anything in any of these rooms. 'Cept for maybe that last bathroom, but I'd still feel like I have to iron the towel afterwards. You know there's never going to be flame put to log in the first one. Ever.

So, they guilt purchasers into accepting the price because "a percentage" (mystery alert) goes back to the museum, while they guilt the museums into giving up the posters in the first place by calling it recycling. Nice work if you can get it.

Bad dishtowels are indeed a bane, but man...the stores sure get huge margins on them. There's no reason three little towels should cost $9-12 at Target. I'm gonna try the Ikea ones to see if they can penetrate my dishtowel curmudge.

As for staining, it might help to get the towel wet, wring it dry, then clean up the stain, rather than wiping with a dry towel. It seems to make a difference for me, and was the technique always used when I worked a pizza job all those years ago.

Beautiful room(s)! I'm not seeing the "70s" aspect, though. More like 40-50s.
