I adore this chair and could only afford to buy knock-off reproductions. But still enjoy looking at their form and love using them for dining.

In a corner of the laundry room in my apartment building in Seattle when I was in graduate school people left things they no longer wanted. It was a little treasure nook! I found lots of interesting goodies. One item I still have more than twenty years later is a solid original butterfly chair. All I had to do was have the cover made for it.

Brass has been a design "no no" for quite awhile now. Seems it's due for a return. We'll get used to looking at anything if it's done well. ;o)

Interesting. If I ever find that I have an unfinished bottle of champagne around (unlikely), I'll find a raisin and give this a try. ;o)

The Timberline Lodge is unique and charming. The story and tour are fascinating. We stayed there more than a decade ago. It's a stunning location, too!

I love that they have a stove-top espresso maker---would be interested to know where they found that particular one with the milk steamer--- and I love those old ranges. I've had a couple of those in rentals I've lived in in the past.

I switched to glass food containers for storing leftovers in the fridge, too. I found most of mine at the local thrift store (Deseret Industries) over time, watching for the matching tops, etc. Also, I found attractive containers for storing items such as nuts, rice popcorn there, too, and I've been keeping food jars, too.

I especially like the first stack cocktail table with the hand-cast aluminum "leg"!

Thanks so much for this post with stunning photos. Excavation/Restoration of the terrace houses had not been done when I visited Ephesus nearly twenty years ago. So nice to see it here! ~Sparky

I live in town close to two colleges and rent my extra bedrooms to students and young adults who work downtown. Helps me tremendously with my mortgage and utility bills, especially good since being laid off from my job. ;o)

Hmmmmm, I can still remember the delicious fish sandwiches from fresh catch roasted fresh and served on fresh bread by the fishermen made right on and served from their boats!!!! Heavenly.

Absolutely beautiful and a very good and accurate report. I had a similar experience in Turkey twenty years ago, during a seven-week visit. So glad you had this opportunity! Thanks for sharing it.

I love these old rake heads. I just found one in my basement from previous-previous owners and do plan to use it for hanging up little garden tools in my garage.

Last year was my first sign up for a CSA. I loved it. One share was enough for two people they said, but I am only one. I ate everything! All organic and healthy---I actually dropped some unwanted pounds! Maybe one small eggplant went bad before I got to it, but I kept up on everything and enjoyed looking up recipes for whatever came my way, especially items I'd never had before! I never had a potato with so much flavor as came from my farmers and there were several varieties. I used my last of the CSA items in March, when I took the last container of homemade borscht from the freezer. I'm looking forward to this year's start up in a couple of weeks! ~Sparky

Ooh, la, la, the assortment of furniture legs alone gives me a thrill. I want to know the story on the colorful radiators. They look like the antique steam or water units I've had in some of my homes. Those in the photo above look as though they have electrical cords coming out of them. More info on these would be great! :o)
