Living Large in Small Spaces

when I was a kid, it was a secret stairway up from my closet in my room - an attic filled with antiques and of course toys. I would dream of this place repeatedly, wake up to go check, and pure dissappointment.
in my more adult years, I had a similar dream before I moved into my current apartment (but after I signed the lease), that the wall between the bedroom and the living room was a large doorway, and I kep repeating the name "Kate" when I woke up. Months later, as I was putting artwork up the wall, I noticed patches that could have been a doorway in its past life (it's a building from the 1880s) - so who knows, maybe someone named Kate used to live here and probably way before this "room" was made into a "one-bedroom apartment"...

Good Questions: Does Anyone Have This Dream?

I would flip the bedroom and the living room as well - especially since the bedroom is so close to the kitchen. But it seems from the floorplan that there is no closet in the current living room, so I figure that could be the reason.

We've seen the bedroom for this place in Bedroom month I think, and also a tour, so I pretty much remember those, but agree the 3 pics limit was a bit tight this year. I think it was more like 4 or 5 last year, but I'm not sure...

I love this place though... It's very sunny and light and looks lived in...Plus uncluttered (with 2 kids??) Great job.

This just makes me want to pack up my things and move to Paris. Like tomorrow.
Kudos to Kristin. Let's see more of Paris! AT: Paris is a brilliant idea. Once we move that far, I can start suggesting AT:Istanbul... That is where antique meets modern truly. Like literally.

I think the city feels deserted...Unless of course you work midtown and bump into the touristy crowd on 5th avenue on your quest for some food to grab outside...
The weather is absolutely amazing!

I will go against Maxwell on this one, and say glossy black or a real dark navy. I just painted my entrance door a glossy black, and it's absolutely amazing... I don't think you can go wrong with it. Dark colors will also hide imperfections, steel dorrknobs will look very stylish, and you can do whatever color you like with other decorative items. Black doors/white walls will be the perfect background...

I actually have the same one in black and I love it. When you watch TV at night (in the dark) the only thing you'll see is the picture, not the TV which is cool.

Not so sure about white though. It almost feels too much like a mac screen

I prefer soft green or blue as well. It blends well with white and promotes tranquility of the water...
