This is a pretty helpful article, but I am pretty sure the correct word to use would be "exacerbated" not "exasperated". Pretty sure forced heat isn't irritating the problem.

Okay, I really want to try this, but please post instructions! Milk, yea or nay? Do you do the chocolate first or the tea? This is like posting a palette of great colors without telling us what the names of the colors are.

I have plain, old, white appliances in my laundry room. Although at first I lusted after the trendy colors new machines come in, I learned to love the white when it pops against my kelly green walls! Combined with the white cabinets and some fun art, it makes laundry a whole lot more enjoyable.

Instead of red, what about using a berry color (fuschia?) to add some punch?

I agree with the other posters that upside down boot hangers are a bad idea. Messy drips all over the floor and the legs of the boots. :( I'd give up floor space for a dry, clean floor anytime.

LoriSF, I suggest you tell your friends to take you off their list, if getting photos of their family is that objectionable.

Anyone have details on the bedding in Photo 1? I adore it!

Can't you clean the chalk off the board with a moist paper towel? I'd definitely bulk up on the cork (a thicker sheet of cork, or perhaps two), or nothing's going to stick in that cute memo board.

I contemplated ecards, but for me, nothing beats the joy of getting a special card (with note and update on the year!) in the snail mail. It's just one of many Christmas traditions that I'm willing to put a little extra effort into to keep up. Yes, hitting SEND on a mass e-mail would be easier, but it's worth it for my friends to get the real deal. I also purchase Unicef cards, so it's one way to do a little good and spread cheer at the same time.

What about a round-up of compostable dishware? I went to a wedding where they used compostable cups and plates, and they were cute and a nice compromise between washing up a ton of dishes and buying cute but not-so-green dishware.

I like to use a glue stick on the inside of the pennant and wrap it around a longer craft stick. (I get mine in hobby stores and craft stores.)

Does anyone buy cake stands without covers to use as ... cake stands? I can't see ever using one (unless it's to display something other than a cake).

We do modified Navy showers. It's just too dang cold to completely shut off the water when shampooing, shaving, etc. But, it's pretty easy to find a shower head that has a low-flow switch to turn down the water pressure when you don't need the full stream.

I've seen one like that (also for hot water for tea) from China, except it's a little boy peeing. If you fill it with hot water, it pees. Otherwise, I think it just holds water.

I love this house and so many of its great details! Where did the curtains from photo #1 and the orange towel from photo #5 come from? Anyone know?

I think a lighter khaki (almost cream) would work well as a neutral that the orange and yellow could really pop against. And why are you against white again?

We have orange near a hallway that we tried to do yellow, but it looked too Crayola, so we ended up doing a light khaki with yellow stripes. It turned out great!

I bought IKEA Billy bookcases and just ignored the backs of the kit. They looked cheap and flimsy anyway, and now I can see my pretty orange wall through the cases.

Bamboo and spider plants haven't died in my neglectful home yet ... and, like other posters, I would love to see a list that includes more than one plant that's not harmful to pets.

I agree with jooly. These spaces look adorable and affordable, but I guess I am too high-maintenance for communal bathrooms.
