I like #5 because it's so simple and uncluttered (and I believe those are actually stencils). All the others looks so busy and make the rooms look closed in and claustrophobic to me.

Yeah, they have building codes; Tulsa uses the 2009 International Building Code which specifies handrail on at least one side of a flight with four or more risers and guardrail on open stairs which exceed 30" from the floor. It also doesn't look like the third winder has a minimum width of 10" located 12" from the narrow end tho' that could be a optical illusion. So, yeah, big time code violations and a dangerous stair.

I bought a poster hanger set (the website is posterhanger.com) off Fab for a large poster I couldn't afford to frame. It looks very nice, not as finished as framing but a huge step up from just pinning a poster to a wall.

I always wanted a secret room too but I also wanted a hidden escape tunnel built into the floor that would come up somewhere in the backyard. I guess it could double as storm cellar to hide from tornadoes.

I'd also have a rooftop deck with a sleeping chaise so on nice nights I could sleep under the stars outside.

Y'all need to clean out the spambots.

I'm actually eyeing the purple velvet sofa in the background. I assume that's Calvin Klein too? I'll have to look for it.

I remember that when those iMacs came out, all computer equipment was invariably that horrible bland putty color. It was so groundbreaking to actually see bright colors. It's great that we have more selection now.

I think it's harder to make friends for most adults because, other than work, they're not doing the types of activities that lend themselves to making friends. As a kid or in college, you had long periods of relatively unstructured time (sports, studying, lunches, etc) to get to know the other kids. As adults, these opportunities are a lot rarer and don't just happen.

I think the solution is to actively seek out reasons to "hang out". Sports is a great one, there's always time before or after practice (personally, I row and almost all of my adult friends are fellow rowers). Book clubs or stitch&bitches would be another great way to hang out with other people in a group setting. Find something you're interested in and find a group that does that. You'll meet new people and the chance to find someone you "click" with.

Hasn't this bedroom been featured before? I loved it than and I still love it now. The bright pink with the rococo headboard is really striking.

@glasseye: That's exactly what I thought too!

Beautiful bedroom. The wall color would be too bright for me but it looks lovely here.

This looks so pretty and organized! And almost makes me want to simplify my make-up but I love variety too much. The only make-up products I keep out are my brushes and pencils organized in 8 magnetic cups on a magnet board (from IKEA, an office organizer). The rest of my make-up I store in the linen closet and pull out every morning.

But my best organizing secret is my lipsticks - stored in shotgun shell boxes. Turns out many lipsticks are just about the same size as a 12 gauge shotgun shell and they sell 25 shell boxes that are perfect for organizing and storing lipsticks. Actually, the prices are very reasonable for wool which lasts forever. I've got a Hudson Bay blanket which was a lot more and it's amazingly comfortable. (and it is a pet magnet but easy to brush the excess fur off)

My New Year's resolution was to not turn on the computer at home until 10pm. I'd developed the habit of just vegging out with the computer every evening, mindlessly surfing the same sites and I wanted to change.

I've done OK and it's interesting how much I can get accomplished in an evening if I'm not stopping constantly to check my email or "just look up one thing". Plus, I've actually finished a couple of "real" books and my concentration seems to be improving: I'd noticed that somehow surfing the net seems to make it more difficult to concentrate for any length of time without getting distracted.

What I love about FAB is the consistency of their design philosophy in what they offer. I may nto buy that much from them but I enjoy being exposed to new and different artists and retailers who interest me.

Oh, I love the bunny cockatiel. There are several artists on Etsy who do similar work and are quite affordable. I have a nice piece from Melabo and The Runny Bunny also does collage slip casts.

I don't have sheets from Rough Linen but I do have linen sheets and they feel amazing. So much cooler than cotton and soft in a home spun way. To me it was totally worth the investment.

The fridge looks like the LG LRBP1031. I've got it in white and it's perfect: narrow, counter depth, relatively small capacity, and bottom freezer. A small fridge goes a long way to make a small kitchen look larger.

I have a bed that's too firm, so firm, in fact, that I'd been opting to sleep on the sofa far too often. I was excited about a natural latex mattress topper from Overstock but it didn't really provide that much extra cushioning. So I got a memory foam topper (from Target) and a wool mattress pad from Overstock (same one linked above) and I finally have a comfy, inviting bed. The wool helps with heat in the summer but also feels cozy when it's cool.

I can't get over the feeling that I'm "wasting" good clothes if I wear them when I'm just bumming around. I usually wear an old pair of shorts, comfy old sports bra, and t-shirt at home. But I do like them to be somewhat flattering.
