LOVE the way you incorporated the architectural trim to make the playhouse. It's perfect, and I never would have thought of doing something like that.

Hi, Elise's mom, again. Thanks for all of the sweet comments.

Don't fret about the books, JudiAU! There are some up here in the playroom and her bedroom just down the stairs is overflowing with books.

Hi, Elise's mom, Erin here.

The strawberry toy box is vintage early 1980's Little Tikes. It was actually mine when I was a kid, so I'm sorry I don't have any tips for locating one.

I painted the I like you signs over the couch. I also made the garland from scraps of scrapbook/wrapping paper and ribbon. If you're crafty at all, it's very easy to do. I'll have a post on my blog about it soon.

re: the couch. It's very firm, but in a good way. You don't sink down into it whatsoever.

Thanks for posting our playroom, Ohdeedoh!

Would love to see a close up of the alphabet on the wall. Way to represent Saint Louis!

Totally agree with Mediocrates. It's all about priorities.

I mostly work when my 9-month-old is sleeping. As soon as she goes down, I don't waste any time. I've learned I have to jump right into a project. I also grab spare minutes wherever I can and I will sometimes work on things in the early evening while my husband watches her.

The projects do sit out for days at a time while they are in process and sometimes household chores take a backseat. But I get dinner on the table every night, we wear clean clothes and we're not living in squalor, so I'm OK with it.

Absolutely love this and want to make one for my daughter. One question because I'm not a sewer, did you try to use fabrics of the same weight? Does that matter?

I have this rug from Home Depot. Let me warn you it is not made of natural fibers and does not wear well. I purchased in 2004, and now it's matted, ugly and relegated to the basement.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Linda - The "screw holes" at the bottom aren't actually screw holes, but decorative indentations. I painted them red. You can see detail in the "tools" photo.
