I'd love to have wall ovens, not because of the heat (I don't understand why that's a concern) but because of the bending over to get the lasagne out. My parents always had a wall oven but in my small big-city kitchen, space makes that impossible. So I'll be getting a range again. Does anyone have any experience with the double ovens in a range? There are a few models that look intriguing.

And thanks for the tip about Miele. I love their stuff, just didn't know if the quality made up for the price.

Faith, it's so great to see the posts again. I've been checking religiously. Thanks for how thorough your stories are. I'm learning so much from this.

Anyway, as a neat freak, I could never live with marble in the kitchen. It'll be quartz or glass for me. I do love marble, though, and will have to put it in the bathroom if at all.

No. If I was going to get something delivered, why not just get regular delivery. There's a lot more out there than Pizza Hut. If I was going to cook anyway, why spend more. You still have to do the washing up and that, to me, is the most annoying thing about cooking.

Hear! Hear! I got rid of my TV when I moved last, intending to get a new one that better it the new place. Four years later I still haven't and I don't miss it. @lynnindc Streaming means you watch as the website runs the show for you (yeah, kind of like YouTube). You can also fully download things from places like iTunes where the video quality is a bit higher but that isn't called "streaming", its just downloading.

@AKAY You made me laugh out loud. I have to say I hardly ever see anyone use a checkbook, thank God.

Just to add my voice to the clamor: This is boring and not why I visit AT. Get rid of this.

I third Barcelona's La Boqueria. RTM in Philly is my main squeeze but I'm biased in that way.

You have the same space issue I do and you've solved it in a clever way. Thanks.

I love the silence. I'm pretty neat, too, and don't miss having to clean up other people's stuff because I can't stand looking at it.

I do it all the time. Since I live alone, making a cake is impossible since I can't eat it before it goes stale and yet I like something sweet after dinner. Enter cupcakes. I make the mix and pour it into the silicone cupcake molds I have and bake at the same temperature for the cake. I'm incredibly lazy so I never time it, I bake until I can smell it. The superflous cupcakes go in the freezer.

I have that Crystal Blue mixer. I bought it on Amazon years ago at a huge discount since they were getting rid of the color. How fashion-forward/ backward am I.

I keep a separate notebook for the kitchen and Evernotes for later. I will never write in a book, cookbooks included.

Another vote for Kaiser. I make everything in it, even cakes that don't require a springform.

Oh, this one's beautiful. I love the mix of furnishings, things start to look the same around here sometimes. Living is Sausalito must make up for not having more square footage. Well done.

I don't like it at all. I can't help shaking the black= evil association. Houses like that are kind of haunted housey to begin with.

"Stinky" is kind of subjective, isn't it? Give me any washed rind French cheese any day of the week for any meal but that fish sauce stuff makes me gag.

I love to entertain, so I'm in the two oven camp. They wouldn't even have to be full-size.
