@ColoradoMel & TKPKgirl - Really?! That's "so true"?! I'm sorry but these kinds of comments about MY CITY (Baltimore) have really gotten old. How much experience do either of you have with Charm City? Let me guess, you've stayed a few days downtown for a convention or watched every season of The Wire, and that's enough to form an opinion on an entire city??

So Mel, I love Colorado and Denver is a great city. However, a quick Google search just showed me that over the past 10 years Denver's Violent Crime Index is exponentially higher that the national average for major cities (even doubled the US average from '04-'06). Does that mean I should never step foot in the city limits? Of course not. Same thing applies to B-more and most major cities in the US. There are bad areas where crimes occur with regularity, but there are also wonderful neighborhoods and residents who take great pride in where they live.

For you to make such a negative generalization about my hometown (which by the way, I lived away from from for 20+ years and then willingly chose to move back to!) is downright offensive. And to do so in the form of a comment on a post that highlights the fact that a top-notch business chose to construct a luxurious hotel here further displays your poor judgement and lack of couth.

@shradiane, you forgot to include some sort of alarm in case any frisky roosters try to sneak in!

The new store looks great, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the folks at Trohv. Just as the first line of this post states, the original Red Tree/Trohv location in Hampden has saved me countless times over the years by always having something to satisfy my last minute gift buying needs. I can always find something fitting in their great selection of quirky greeting cards as well.

Even when I'm not shopping, I love the store for their elaborate and well thought out window displays when I walk my dog by the storefront. Their current summer road-trip themed display is one of my all-time favorites.

Ahhh, if only I had $4600 to blow on a bar cart...that thing looks fantastic, but come on.

Why is it a bummer that Jerry had a nice house? He was in one of the highest grossing bands ever and you'd expect him the live in a teepee in the woods or something?! I'd be willing to bet some wealthy Heads get into a bidding war over this place.

apf - my Trader Joes doesn't carry beer/wine at all...some beer is better than no beer!

i hit TJs every couple of months to stock up on some staples & frozen goods. not everything there is of great quality (agree with above re: produce), but definitely worth an occasional trip. hell, i've seen plenty of stuff in whole foods with high fructose corn syrup!

Nice to see more examples and ideas since I too loved this idea when I first saw it on AT, but it should be noted that Kimber did the original write up. Cheers! :)

When you consider the similarities between all of the items pictured, I think this is beyond coincidental. It appears to me that West Elm is clearly "borrowing" from Dwell's patterns and color pairings and subsequently offering their versions at more reasonable prices. Would it sway me from buying the less expensive options b/c they're knock-off's? No way - bring on the deals!

@stinkypants - Ghosts are the latest fad in home decorations here in B-more. They're popping up everywhere.

Great place that definitely doesn't have the feel of your typical row home. I'm intrigued by the double rooftop deck.

Relax people. It's acrylic yarn. It's fun. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if even only 1 person thinks it's art, then it's art. Personally I like sweaters and I like trees, so I also like sweater trees.

AJ touched on an issue that is much more pressing than the validity of clothing a tree - squirrels. We must all join together to stop these pests from digging up potted plants and peeing wherever they please.

To quote the great philosopher/golf course groundskeeper, Carl Spackler, "...Man, free to kill [squirrels] at will. To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote."
