Beautiful. I don't find it obsessive or wrong to share. It's just her face/head. It's a fascinating project to be so disciplined and put something like this together! I'd rather criticize the parents who are apathetic at best or abusive at worst. Either people are "too obsessed" or "creepy" or they are "too complacent." Nothing will ever be good enough! sigh. @LOORA, She switched to a new room just fine. I did it in the middle of the pregnancy so that she wouldn't feel displaced. We talked up the new room and a new bed and read lots of books about the subject. We also had her say goodbye and thank you to the crib and we took it down when she was taking her bath. When she went back into the room it was gone; that way she could see it was no longer an option to sleep there. (we reassembled it later on at the end of the pregnancy) She slept just fine in her new room and bed that night; but I think the preparations made all the difference. She never had issues with him being in there. Noah's Nautical Nest My Room |

Thanks! I actually just bought some cheapie natural-colored seagrass wallpaper online and used Mod Podge to stick it on the fronts. (Before assembling the drawers, I took a drawer front and traced it a bunch of times and cut them out, then glued it on. They were assembled after that). Noah's Nautical Nest My Room |

I loved art since I was 6; I went on to study it in college. When I was 9, I wanted a sketchbook too. It was heaven to have a nice quality sketchbook with the hard covers and spiral binding and thick drawing paper. (I say spiral because the pages then lay flat and it's easier to work with it). I agree that art kits never went over well with me. They never felt quality. I did enjoy some of the "how to draw" books too. I remember LOVING the book "Drawing for older children and teens" by Mona Brookes. It had lots of inspiration in it and some great drawing exercises that helped me a lot. It was about developing skills; not "how to draw" things. I also LOVED getting a real set of drawing pencils in different hardnesses and a set of REAL Prismacolor colored pencils. 9 is the perfect age for being able to really take care of materials and feel pride in your work. Perhaps a little professional "Art Bin" to hold the supplies in will add to the fun too. Your best work is done with "real" supplies. It may seem boring to others; but for those interested in art it is like being given a plethora of candy and treats! I never forgot being given my "real" supplies as a kid and how special it was to me. Gift Ideas for 9-Year-Old Interested in Art Good Questions |

The total grayness makes this look like a prison cell or like a padded room in an asylum. I think just a few more colorful personal items or bits would help against that feeling. Right now there's an overwhelming feeling of joylessness all due to the lack of color, in my opinion. When Is Minimalist Too Minimal? |

Melichan, it's worked out great so far! It's from Ikea. It comes with the equipment for anchoring it to the wall so that it won't topple over. It seems pretty sturdy. If you were worried about them falling, maybe this wouldn't be the best solution for you. Ikea makes some great wall shelves that you can mount up higher where they can't reach? We are using some in the playroom right now that are working out really well. Paige's Cheerful Place Small Kids, Big Color Entry #13 |

Thanks! The bedding was from Nurseryworks and I'd gotten it at modernnursery.com. It's been discontinued, but that brand makes unique bedding! Paige's Cheerful Place Small Kids, Big Color Entry #13 |

Thanks!! It is a $9 Salvation Army find. It is green and fuzzy (a bright moss green that didn't match the room). So, I got a slipcover made in a daffodil color from Calico Corners. It's quite squeaky when it rocks, but I guess that's part of it's charm! :) Paige's Cheerful Place Small Kids, Big Color Entry #13 |

Thanks! The Elephant Hamper is from Home Decorators Collection; I ordered it from the website. It's the medium sized one in the honey color. :) Paige's Cheerful Place Small Kids, Big Color Entry #13 |

In our room (the first photo), we have the 6-drawer version as the changing table. I'm 5'3" tall and it works fine for me height-wise. It's one big unit and I've had no problems with sagging or anything. One thing is the back of the dresser is cheap-o particle board or something and is very thin. So, we put a little CD player in the top drawer and cut a hole through the back of the drawer to feed the wires through. That way, it can be hidden away. Just a little idea! OwenRocks: Thank you so much! You're very kind. The lampshades were bought at Anthropologie. I need to learn to sew. Both were embroidered and I would have loved to have had the know-how to make them myself. Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | My Room: Little P Massachusetts |

War_eagle: Thanks!!! I traced the drawer fronts onto the seagrass wallpaper and trimmed them out. I glued them on the faces of the drawers using Mod Podge glue. To prevent bubbles underneath I smoothed the paper with my hands/pressed it from the center and worked my way out a zillion times to make sure it was nice and flat/flush with no bubbles. If there was any overhanging paper, I flipped the drawer face over onto a big piece of cardboard and used a very sharp Xacto knife to just trim off the excess from the edges. My lovely husband then assembled the dresser. :) Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | My Room: Little P Massachusetts |

I got it for our nursery because I liked it for ME. haha. So, I put it in there as a good excuse and as decor too. Later, when she gets older, it will become my hamper. I can definitely make it work in our laundry room. I didn't get anything for the nursery that I couldn't later use for myself if she didn't want it...things I could decorate my office with, etc. That way, nothing will go to waste.
