I moved from 3000 sq ft into 650 sq ft. I had to go from my all wooden hangers to the wire flocked ones just to get things to fit into closets. That being said, I still like the all one type of hanger look, whatever they might be.

I have deep turquoise colored walls with a chocolate brown accent wall in my living room. My bathroom is a lighter turquoise. All looks great with glossy white trim and teak furniture.

On bulk trash day I found a walnut Mid Century Modern daybed (almost perfect condition) in an alley near my house. I couldn't figure out a way to get it home. I came back with my tiny car and convinced a guy off the sidewalk to help me strap it to the top of my car. I drove home with the down cushions sticking out the windows and this huge daybed upside down on the roof of my car. I had put a quilt on top of my car to not scratch the roof and it was flapping in the breeze. The darn thing has been in my storage locker for 2 years awaiting somehow cleaning of the down and recovering of the cushions!

I love the idea of using the clear plates and colored paper! I'm going to do that in my place. How lovely.

Ditto Flylady. I'm a current drop out but need to get back on the bandwagon. Picking up as you go, cleaning for 15 minutes at a time and keeping a tight rein on "hot spots" or areas that always get messy are key for a happy home for me.

I agree with the others. I have no TV and use the conversation area as the focal point. My couch and two chairs face each other in a triangle with a coffee table in the middle. I have a small room, it's cozy and works well.

I paint like Lucile Ball. I'm constantly stepping into the paint tray as I back down the ladder, or turning to dip the roller in the pan and sticking my butt up against the wet wall on accident.

Dear Santa: please fix my cracked and crumbling plaster walls. I'm tired of looking at the cracks and seeing animals (like looking at clouds). XOXO I left cookies for you and a carrot for Rudolph and I've been very good this year. :)

I have the Target one. I cut it in half top to bottom, added a fabric band to the bottom and sides and use them as curtains!

Paint the bottom cabinets a dark charcoal, paint the upper cabinets a creamy white, paint the insides of the glass cabinets to coordinate with the blue dining room (how about orange?). Hang a valence (no ruffles just straight) in the window using a vintage looking fabric http://equilter.com/cgi-bin/webc.cgi/st_prod.html?p_prodid=114847&sid=93LKiA2EE2dY3-P-49109317781.c0 is a favorite. Use stainless knobs on the cabinets. Fix the microwave hole by removing the backsplash and upper cabinets, getting a cool looking vent hood and tiling with a stainless tile all the way up. A carpet runner on the floor would help until you could replace the tiles. A black and white checkerboard pattern would look nice.

JanH: I did the same thing with my first Turkey. I couldn't figure out why I didn't get any gibblets, but found them cooked in the bag when carving the bird.

When I was a teenager I baked a marvelous rubbarb pie with homemade pie crust. It looked and smelled great. Unfortunately I had picked swiss chard from my friends garden instead of rubbarb and it tasted horrible!

I'm with the others who have too much jewelry to display. I have too much costume jewelry for a jewelry box! I just got a new bedroom set (Craigs List) and am looking for dividers for the dresser drawers to store mine. I like the idea of having one show stopping piece out on display, possibly framed and hung on the wall.

Well, I'm getting the book again from the library. I've read part of it in the past, looked at my list and gave up before starting. Hopefully the support will keep me going. I'm also going to try tackling just one room, or maybe two, but no more than that. But then there is the coat closet that needs some attention. So maybe that also. See....I need serious help. I need to keep my focus manageable. This isn't the first time I've had this problem. :)

I like the idea of a plunger cover. But what about the toilet brush, which is also icky and needs a cover? Then I have two covered things on the side of my toilet to maneuver around as I clean. And even though they are covered, they still have an ick factor. And the covers don't match. I want a combo plunger, toilet brush cover, one sleek design. Ahhh... a girl can dream. :)

I love the art work and the purple wall. The photos in Chicago Home & Garden do show off the couples personality much more than the AT photos. And the front of the house! Well done. Thank you for opening your home up for us to see. It's lovely.

I'd be careful if you want to remove the pink cup and toothpaste holder. I removed my black ones. They were cemented into the plaster. Half way through the project I realized that. There was no turning back. I ended up with huge holes that had to be repaired. My advice - leave them alone.

Remove the wall paper with a steamer. Embrace their lovely pinkness. Decorate to coordinate with it and have fun! (pink and white, pink and burgundy, pink and robin's egg blue, pink and chartreuse green, pink and fuchsia, pink and black .... you get the idea. )

Replace the towel bar and the light fixture. I would go more vintage in keeping with the era of the pink tile. Lowe's had some great stuff which was pretty inexpensive (which I put in my black and white 50's bath).

If when you remove the wallpaper the tiles are a mess you can do a couple things, depending on what's wrong with them. You could paint them, re-wallpaper them, put up that tile board stuff. None are pleasant options, really. I have my fingers crossed for you that the person who put up the wallpaper just didn't like the pink! (Who wallpapers tiles in a bathroom???)

You might want to talk to your landlord prior to doing anything. He might be able to give you some insight into why the wallpaper decision was made so you know what's in store for you.

Good luck!

Love it! I've been trying to think of a clever (I mean cheap) way to get a quote onto a canvas. I have an 11"x17" printer so part of the work is already done! However, I have used FedEx/Kinkos to print large format in the past (up to 23" wide) and it's very inexpensive. This really sounds easy, just takes a bit of time. I think it would look better than trying to line up self stick letters and getting the spacing correct. Great job!
