Caitlin-

I have to repsectfully disagree about the coffee table. I think it has a cool earthy yet glamourous look to it, and the open sides look like the perfect place to store books or display objects. The heftiness of the piece also keeps the place from looking like it is filled with cheapy Ikea-ish furniture (Not that there's anythign wrong with that when you're on a students's budget, but it's nice to see pieces with some weight that look like they were well made).

I do agree with the dining chairs though. I don't think they look outdated, but a little country for the rest of the place. It's understandable b/c of their budget though. Maybe a simple slipcover over the chairs would help?

I would usually agree with Wannabe, but I think it works when the stool are paired with a dining table because when people are eating (close you ears Miss Manners!) they tend to lean over and let their arms/elbows rest on the table. I find that during conversations at dinner parties, people are more often leaning into the table for conversation's sake.

Are you looking for a weekly/recurring post?

If so, should the 2 sample posts be along the same topic (example: 2 different "PlantThearapy" posts)? Or are you looking for 2 samples, each with compleetly different topics?

Garden units seem to have a bad reputation, but as you have showed, they can sometimes have alot of potential.

I'm not sure if you chose the white becasue its a rental, but it seems to help in keeping the space from looking cave-like (as many gardens do). I think this place looks cozy and I really like how the kitchen has almost a wine-cellar look to it.

One suggestion- If possible, I would hang the picture that is next to your windows behind the couch on the brick, and hang a mirror where the picture is now, but lower so it "mirrors" where the windows are next to it.

If I went with the Ghost chair I was thinking the smoke color, but now that I saw the CB2 chair I am starting to like the idea of a black chair. So, the opaque blackmight be the best of both!

Yes, JCP really has some good stuff, if you fish around a little. This vanity/desk is part of a mirrored furniture collection they have. I originally saw the etagere in a Domino spread, and that's how I stumbled upon the desk. I wanted a mirrored piece so bad, and these are surprisingly affordable compared to most other mirrored furniture.

Thanks again for the advice!

A few months back AT featured an artist who had this really great mod-looking painting of the "honeycomb" buildings (by House of Blues) against a bright blue background. Does anyone remeber the name of the artist or website?

If you want a completely different look you could build a type of "slipcover" box that would literally slip right over the tabletop and hang over the sides a bit. Then, you could paint it, stain it, or whatever you wanted. I've seent his done on a number of home decorating shows and it's a really inexpenseive way to change the loko and preserve the table underneath.

Holly-

I had the Power Lock suction basket, and I could not for the life of get it to stay on the wall. I kept rehanging it and taking products out until finally all I had was a sponge and it still fell off. Usually in the middle of the night and the loud crashing noise would scare the crap out of me! : )

Not to mention that it has put numerous scratches in the porcelein of my brand new bathtub. Ugh!

Am I doing something wrong because many other people swear by these and they really would be the best solution for my own bathroom.
