I can't imagine anywhere one would put this in his home that wouldn't be better improve by a plant for a fraction of the price (and without the constant concern that it will crack and spill briny water everywhere). Just a Touch of the Great Outdoors: EcoSphere | Apartment Therapy DC |

Nespresso makes delicious coffee, better than the starbucks down the street from me, better than any Krups home maker, and as good as the Starbucks in Pike's Market where they still hand pull shots. This machine makes the best espresso with the thickest crema you can get in your neigborhood (the shot in the picture is not rigged that's really what comes out), and it does it at the push of a button. You deserve to sleep in a proper bed. Not a daybed, not a single tucked into an odd space, not a murphy bed. This is your home, you don't have to apologize for or hide the fact that as a human being, you sleep at night. Apartment Therapy DC | Setting Up a First-time Solo Studio? Good Questions |

Who ever invented this failed high school physics. The only "stretching" forces that affect the shirt are those from the part of the hanger it actually touches: the slope of the arms of the hanger, the coefficient of friction of the material used, the width of the material used... to the shirt, there is no affect from the part of the hanger that attaches to the bar. No matter how many loop or twist one puts in it, to the shirt it is simply an upward vectored force balancing the downward vectored force of the shirt's weight. If your condo doesn't have a gym, that would be a good space for a piece of fitness equipment (treadmill, elliptical runner, bench with dumbells, pull up / dip bar, yoga mat with mirror on the wall...) Apartment Therapy Chicago | Ideas for this Empty Corner of My Condo?Good Questions |

Good call Bretzel and trikitixa, I learn so much from the comments on this site. The problem isn't the wall color but the floor color; it's obvious once someone points it out. Apartment Therapy Chicago | What Color Paint to Go with this Dark Green Furniture? Good Questions |

This is an interesting idea for a studio. Just admit that there is no room for a couch and chairs or dining table in such a small space, like admitting there is no room for a display on the iPod shuffle. It frees one up to put in a full sized bedroom set and work space. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Look! Dynamically Lit Studio Apartment |

Electric things aren't really steampunk, which refers to a subgenre of science fiction imagining a world where the industrial revolution never lead to the computer age, but rather further and further refinements and advancements in mechanical technology to solve the problems we use electronic technology to accomplish. brooklynb, have your apartment completely set up before the first day of classes. You won't have time to work on it at all afterwards. If you're buying furniture, a great couch for reading will pay for itself many times over (by getting you the grades to get your first choice or residency). You will be reading textbooks ten hours a day. I recommend deep buttoned leather. It also helps to review your biochemistry over the summer before you start (have the kreb's cycle memorized, for example). Good luck with your interviews this fall. Is anyone else kind of over roller bags? They were awesome twenty years ago when I first saw them and it seemed like only airline staff had them... but now I'd rather just carry my bag and have back the precious room in my carry on wasted on wheels and retractable handles, so I can pack actual stuff in it. I love the idea of a pub in one's house. I took pictures of dozens of pub's last time I was in Dublin just in case I ever had the space to recreate one. But that isn't a pub. That is an airport bar. Why would anyone want an airport bar, the saddest place in the whole world, inside his home? Apartment Therapy DC | FOX News Anchor Bret Baier's DC House The Washington Post |

Joan, it's a lot easier to peel the watermelon (hack off the top and bottom then remove the rest of the rind by cutting downward in strips so that no white remains). Cut the remaining heart of the watermelon into large bite sized pieces and marinade them in a glass or ceramic bowl with a bottle of vodka, some mint, lime juice, and sugar in your refridgerator. A mixing bowl fits in the fridge much easier than a big water melon, and (assuming you use good vodka) it's much cheaper to waste a little watermelon using the method above than the Jaime Oliver way, which ends up wasting vodka. Serve in wide mouthed old fashioned glasses or small bowls. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | How To Turn Watermelon Into a Full-Blown Dessert |

I Am Not A Lawyer (IANAL) but I agree with the posters above about contacting legal assistance, if you show a judge that you are paying at least part of your back rent (I'm assuming you are being evicted for rent and not because you are violating some other aspect of your contract with your landlord) the court will intervene on your behalf. The state has a vested interest in preventing people from getting thrown out in the street, even to the extent that they will infringe on the landlord's property rights for a period of time. With this breathing room, I'd recommend you figure out a way to pay off your back rent and also move into a less expensive living situation.
