If anything Aurorava, it is void of any decoration...there is not an emphasis of cushions and curtains but on the use of form to create space as well as storage and lighting elements.
I have two small children, one is two with grubby fingers and this place is surprisingly easy to keep clean - 2 drops of carwash in a spray bottle of water and a quick wipe down.

I'm not going to lie, it wasn't cheap but it wasn't insanely expensive either - we used commercial shopfitters so they are a lot cheaper than using specialised residential cabinet makers!
Thanks for your comments though! xox

Hi Globaltastes - didn't realise my mum was signed in on my computer!
There are a few more pictures on my website - daarc.com.au as well as pictures of my other work - bars and nightclubs mainly...my unit doesn't seem like it's anyone's personal taste here from the comments I've received to date - but it does seem to be getting a lot of comments and provoking discussion so at least that's good I suppose!

I can say that it doesn't feel cold living here, or like an airport...but I think that is because there is always a two year old running around the place with his Thomas the Tank Engine Toys everywhere - maybe I should have left these out when the photos were taken!

For me one of the biggest challenges of living in a small space with children is clutter...It can make a small unit feel claustrophobic, but it seems like the most popular interiors are those with lots of cushions and knick knacks - I'll know that for next time...Thanks again xxx

Hi there - Yeah the ceiling finish is typical Brissie 90's unit and is generally a hideous finish.
It is expensive to plaster over, and we like the contrast between the high gloss 2-pac panels and the existing textured ceiling...it was just too expensive to re-render the whole ceiling and is a good reminder for us of what it looked like beforehand - mint green laminate and beige carpet!

Hi there - there isn't a mistake - unlike that article I haven't included our balcony or the storage space in the basement downstairs in the floor area. Our total GFA (Gross Floor Area) is 93 square metres. This is the internal area and that is what I calculated.
To give you an idea of scale (as the wide angle lens makes the spaces look a lot bigger than what they are) the kitchen is only 3 metres across...that's around 9ft and ten inches.
I hope this clears up some of the comments that have been questioning the total area!
Thanks!!
