Nothing is new. My Grandpa Joe hung jars from under a shelf in the garage in 1952. If you like to collect different jars, it makes a more eclectic look. Filled with buttons, paint tabs, or other colorful items, brings a bright spot in any small space.

A few years ago I entered a contest with Design Within Reach to design a chair/seating with a champagne cork, top ,wire & foil wrapper. I did not win, but it was a fun craft idea. Maybe I will make doll furniture for my granddaughters from them for next year.

You really don't need an upholsterer to do this job. The old fabric comes out by lifting a little from the frame. Replace new fabric. I have done it myself. Tufting also does not work on most plaids, stripes, herringbones or houndstooths as it distorts the weave. Solids, florals or other conversational prints work best.

There always seems to be an extra arm or hand dangling between my husband & I. Also numb arms & hurting shoulders do hamper the cuddling for longer than 5 minutes. We end up going to our separate sides.

I thoroughly appreciate the white with brights children' bedrooms. As an Interior Designer, I love to use color, sometimes bold, but I do like the white for a clean background for everything else.

Moms & moms-to-be, I have been for the past 28 yrs., an Interior Designer of children's rooms & nurseries. On a recent TV episode of "George To The Rescue" on NBC, I spent several months of sourcing for a room that was "done in a day". One day' "work" looks like one day' results in real life.

I find it sad that the dispossible world has made its way into the home. For a few years now, clients tell ME that they want stickies, wallies or other removable images on their kids walls so they can be easily changed without a high price ticket. I feel bad that I am not hiring my muralist as much as I did in the past. Artists have to make a living too.

It is for the child inside everyone of us. Some adults could use a serious attitude adjustment & this would do it.

DOLLS. I have been collecting foreign, hand made dolls in native dress since I was very young. My first acquisition was given to me by my Father. He brought it back with him from an abandoned building in Paris during WWII. I often wonder what did happen to the little girl who played with this doll. Dolls have been given to me by traveling friends, some found in local flea markets & garage sales and some from my own far flung travels.

From one bride to another, "BRAVO". I actually planned 3 weddings (same man, same dress), none of which were in our home, but nonetheless took much more time than I ever guessed it would. Girls, take our advice & get help from dear friends (they want to help) & enjoy every moment. We too fixed up our apt. for all our out of town family & friends to see.
