If you love them as they are, and the problem (as you state it) is they don't go with your decor, you could use them while you think on it.

Whenever I really love something, it either fits now or means I'm going in that direction and will soon start tweaking the rest of the decor. You'd be surprised at how little might need to change to make these work.

These are worth keeping while you decide. But please don't paint them.

If this were my room, I'd probably leave it all white. But if someone was determined to paint a wall with color, I'd recommend that wall be the one with the window.

If you want to soften the space, install either a wall-mounted curtain rod close to the ceiling or a ceiling-mounted track. Either should be the full width of the window wall. The curtains should be full length. If you use the ceiling track, they can all pull to the right so the windows are unobstructed when they are open.

If you like this idea, find the window panels first, then work out the paint around them. Again, if I lived there, the walls and curtains would probably be white. Or the curtains could have the color -- I'm liking the orange idea already proposed.

I'd like to take the healthy suggestion of this post, but -- like teacupcake -- I love cable more than just about everything. Flove it. Hope to recover one day, but for now, cable and the dvr are my bestest friends..

kdkaboom, one of my cats was clawing my seriously expensive Tibetan rug I had waited all my life to have. Turned out the best solution was to put one of those horizontal scratchers (made from corrugated cardboard) right where she was attacking. Cardboard beat wool.

Also, this best-quality wool excels at repelling stains from cat puke.

I second the motion for a manual carpet sweeper. They are swift, light weight, quiet, and really work.

Can't resist saying that one is owned by cats -- not the other way around.
