One day when my little brother was about 8 years old, he decided to make himself a bowl of ramen noodles in the microwave, but he forgot to add the water. After 3 minutes in there, they started to smoke and blacken. They didn't catch on fire, but I still remember the smell that invaded the kitchen; acrid & disgusting! Even with all the windows open and the fans on it hung around for days afterward. I Almost Burned Down The Kitchen When... |

I spent a few years living in Irvine, and I can honestly say that it was the worst place we ever lived in. Soulless, beige, and snobby. My First Apartment: Marcia's Shared Space in Irvine |

Beryl, try frosting the glass. I was renting an apartment that overlooked the ugliest (and busiest) alley in the world, but had great light coming through the windows. I got some temporary frosting film from Home Depot and it worked perfectly; I still had all the light I wanted, but I didn't have to see the alley to get it. It was very easy to take down when I moved, too. Don't Give Up! Try These Home Rescue Remedies Reader Intelligence Report |

I could easily see myself knocking all the mail to the ground when I go to hit the switch. Doesn't look very practical, plus the price is bad. Stay Organized: Switch Entry Caddy | Apartment Therapy DC |

I would set up some sort of shelf system on one side of the closet for your shoes right away, since that stands out the most to me. Anything short enough (shirts, skirts) gets hung on the bar over that. On the other side could be longer hanging items, and maybe a set or two of hanging shelves for accessories and the like. The bottom floor of the second side could store boxes with rarely used items. How Should I Organize This Closet? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

It looks absolutely fabulous! The only criticism I have is that it doesn't look like anyone actually lives in your house. I'm sure that was just for the photo shoot, though. It really is gorgeous and well done, especially the kitchen. Apartment Therapy DC | Layla Kevin's Country Coastal Cottage House Tour |

I like it, but I feel like a lot of the walls are really in need of some artwork. Something's off. Also, I wish you has shown a picture of the bookcases in their "closed" position! It seems like a great idea. Apartment Therapy DC | Rachael's Apartment Therapy Inspired Design Lab House Tour |
