umm there's no window -this is a walk in closet, not a "bedroom".

I love the first one. The black reads as a dark brown on my computer. I never thought I'd like 1.horizontal stripes on a wall 2. black in the bathroom. Graphic and striking.

People have so many hang ups about germs, dirt, cooking, cleanliness and all sorts of things...... Its quite fascinating.

Most of those townhouses are fully owner occupied or run and they will rent out a floor or sometimes the whole townhouse but they do not like anyone messing with their houses in any way that may devalue them. I am assuming this is a rental on the parlor floor and those shelves above the fireplace are original details to the house. So No! dont remove those. Put the TV in the fireplace most of them are decorative anyway. A small sofa and a armchair will suffice for now. Use the shelving for books or artwork. If you dont like the mirror cover it with a nice painting. Maybe a small table in that window nook.

If the kitchen is tiny having the table close by will help in having a work area. You can do window seating with vents to allow for the radiator heat to come out and heat the room.

Cleaning my kitchen. Dont have too much to do but I have a problem area. My corner kitchen cabinet above and underneath. Its my largest cabinet in a small kitchen 3 cabinets top 3 on the bottom. I keep my oversize items in the top..wok, blender etc.- can't fit anywhere else. I can only see what is directly in front of the door not on the sides.

Underneath cabinet is large without shelves but the sink piping drops low underneath leaving space only on both sides how can I utilize the space better. I've thought about those pull out space saver shelves. Any suggestions.

Been there done that! Im on my last purge and what remains are the gotta haves. It's a physical relief getting rid of stuff and the amount of time I have spent moving it around and around without really enjoying most of it was a waste..

I have come to realize my time is precious and how I spend it is too. I choose to spend time now with my pets and friends, and less time with my stuff. When the time comes for me to hybernate, my stuff will be there, and it'll be the best of the best!

My door is usually open. My front door has a security lock, which I usually get locked out of but if I wait a couple of minutes a neighbor will be in or out. I have a dog and cats. I don't have anything that anyone would want anyway! Uh ..you dont have my address do you....?

Growing up in Brooklyn we had a clothes line that we used all the time. They would dry and smell sunny, warm, and a little salty like the beach. I live in Manhattan now and I wouldn't hang a sock out my window. My sils get so black with soot any clean clothes wouldn't be so clean after.

A warm air humidifier, near where you spend most of your time. It creates a warm zone. I have a bionaire. Two speed low & high. The low is a steady stream of air. The high can warm an area quicky. And the humidifier keeps the air moist from dryness in the aparmtent with all the closed windows.

Books, the bane of my existence......Ive given a ton of books from the last 2 cures to the library 200+(some were added to the permanent collections) yeah! I loved them all, BUT its such a RELIEF mentally & physically..
Stacked them to the side and then in small bunches 10-15 here and there whenever I had the extra 10 minutes to go by. A helping of patience since it Took A While.

New mags I circulate- read & pass it on- it is well read by the time it is thrown away and less mags in recycle piles. Much older mags I ebay.

room 1 should be the bedroom just for privacy alone. Room 2 could be a dressing room/office/ library maybe and the dining room could be dining/ living space.

Mix it up. It doesnt have to be traditional use of space. If you've lived in a small space you know that you'll have to do alot of overlapping and multi purposed uses. Depending on the furniture you have, you may need to be more creative. If you entertain alot it may not work but I suggest a small cafe table for eating. Or is that a pass through? You wouldnt need a dining table. The sofa can go against the wall opposite door and tv in the corner.

I really like the column and I agree with all who say incorportate into space. Boston tom you hit the nail on the head. Its a really nice kitchen but it was designed as if the column wasnt there. Surprise it's still there. It could have been incorporated into the kitchen space as part of the design.

The size of the column is the bigger issue-I bet its mostly plaster covering a steel beam. Do a probe of the column. - the diameter of the beam is probably the size of the cross beams in the ceiling. The original warehouse probably was designed with those columns to fill a huge open loft space. Not anymore. See if you can strip it down to the beam or leave a smaller covering of the plaster on column but not take up so much circumference.

Ive been in this office and building back in the early 90's. Ew is one of the words.... Elevator felt like the Flinstone's with the dinosaur and pulley. The stairs and floors felt like you could fall through them at any time- Im not surprised the sink fell through the floor. I hope he had the ceiling reinforce in case something drops in on him.

I never saw the whole place but you could see the windows from the other side. Its not a humungous space but just right. His office was a disaster, piles of stuff all over. Definitey not designer but compared to what I recall - this is so cleaned up. He has got new wood floors in the kitchen and in the front under that green carpet. Those used to be worn out wood strips that were split and soooooo dirty, they were so damaged they couldnt be refinished.

Broadway has always been a strip but the neighborhood was very touch and go for a while. After dark this was a very different world. Plenty of drug dealers still hung out on Great Jones St. into the early 90's- Visiting and living are two different things one block makes a huge difference. Broadway used to be deserted at night and still is to some degree. The only people you would see walking down that way was to go to the train on Houston or Prince. Only the adventurous dared to move and stay and for some it paid off.

PS I think people got grossed out over the pizza joke.

I luv Niecy. Do it with sugar & spice. I specially liked the show she did with a college fraternity. She redid their whole frat house. It tuned out really cool.

There is another show called Hoarders. I found it difficult to watch.
