What I do is to line my glass pan with plastic wrap, form the pie and cover with plastic wrap to freeze. Once completely frozen though, I can wrap and lift the completely frozen pie out of the glass plate and then re-wrap in plastic. When I'm ready to bake, unwrap and place back into a glass pan -- saves you from using the flimsy metal pans or putting all your pans in the freezer!!! Let's be honest - when you look at the majority of people who aren't on websites such as TheKitchn, etc. most of them aren't as green as all of you are proclaiming to be. The majority of americans use plastic wrap and paper napkins. Using what this family is comfortable with and also streamlining the process is ingenious and I applaud the family for being creative. every year for the past 12 year's I've made nutella stuffed french toast with raspberry sauce for my mom - she loves it!!! I make the raspberry sauce ahead of time (mush up the raspberries, strain, add lemon juice and powdered sugar) and use two slices of brioche with nutella sandwiched in the middle - prepare french toast as normal! i snagged one from a friend who was about to throw it out a few years ago - it has multiple layers of chipping wall paint on it, unfortunately. it's just been sitting in my basement waiting for a use but i may have been jump started to get to work on it! @Scoop @TammyE For a long time when I lived in an apartment with NO space in the kitchen I used plastic bins that fit under my bed and kept lesser used kitchen appliances in there. It was interesting.. but worked! Technique: Slow Cooking Without a Slow Cooker | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I originally only had an 8qt multipot (in addition to a smaller saucepan) that I used for everything over the course of two years and it all worked beautifully. When I bought a dutch oven it was a welcomed addition and I love it dearly. If you're going for one though? Get a multipot. It's a stockpot, strainer and steamer all in one that I did pretty much all of my cooking in and it worked. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Should I Buy a Stockpot or a Dutch Oven? Good Questions |
