I have been reading AT for years and love you guys! But...is there a way to search the site for past articles now or has that been removed? The link to the different cities would be nice to have back as well !!

Just a word of warning to be weary of using the Service Magic site. I used it and got lots and lots of phone calls and spam. ANYONE can sign themselves up on Service Magic saying that they are a reliable contractor. They say they "screen " every one, maybe they do , but you will be flooded with calls from not so desirable "contractors". I agree that getting your own snake is the best idea . If you don't have a snake you can call a Drain cleaning company instead of a plumber and save hundreds of dollars!

If you look up ethnic in the dictionary the term is just describing a certain culture like belonging to or deriving from the cultural ,racial, religious , or linguistic traditions of a people or country ."ethnic dances" for example. The term is used appropriately here. Nice post.

WOW! What a Beauty ! I think I am speechless, except for the fact that in all this glory , someone would actually find something negative to say about this place! Really? I think that is just looking for something to complain about! I give it a perfect 10 !

Philippat ...We have laws protecting bats in the US , and though it varies from state to state , most states do protect them . Rabies contracted from a bat is very rare , but it can happen and apparently you don't always feel a bite if you are sleeping . We just had more bats than I care to know living in my attic with a couple that got into the house that we happened to see.We did a humane bat exclusion, it's the law but I would not have done it any other way anyway! It is very possible that some one can be asleep and bitten and not even ever know a bat was even in the house! So , the rabies vaccine scare is debatable. You also might contract a deadly disease or get hit by a bus. Bats are not likely to get rabies that often ,I think it is a personal choice to get the shots or not unless you have proof of rabies of course . Just thought I would throw in my two cents !

What to Do When Bats Break In

Well , last night my daughter and I had to fight off a half dollar sized beetle that was on the welcome mat with a broom. (too big too smoosh !) We have seen a giant beetle wandering around the living room in the middle of the night in the summer, occasionally. Mosquito's , and dear tics that carry lime disease are abundant here and coyote's that eat house cats are also here along with skunks , opossum , and raccoons , and every variety of wasp's and bee's !

Still not as bad as living in the south !.....I suppose there is one good thing about northeast winters ......

yuck.is there another sight for this absurd ranting? i agree with you ,teeze, small minds indeed....dove russel ... the horses don't get much higher!.....opinion's are like a-holes....EVERYBODY HAS ONE . Cashew....it is SAD to serve a big family in a restaurant who have to share kids meals ? At least they are taking the kids out to eat...that comment just seemed so shallow to me .there is so much in this world that is sadder than that. especially when it come's to kids. Sorry but not one of you is perfect and you do need to come back to the planet earth. there is no black and white , right or wrong ,too complex to even get into if you ask me , on a design site none the less. Patrick....(the other one) , You are alway's right on ! I just could not keep away from this one because sooo many crappy comments were posted. pompous butt heads.

actually looking at it again it does look like Warhol's came first .I guess the word "vintage" through me off . I still think of anything below the 60's to be vintage !

Is it just a coincidence that one of the posters look's alot like a very famous piece that Andy Warhol did? Interesting! They are gorgeous. I wonder which came first though , any one have an idea?

I can't agree on the toilet seat being THE most important thing , but it make's the list of things to check for . I think AT should get a list together from all the comments here ! There are alot of good ideas here ! Checking on the outlets is a good one . How about bringing a list of what to check with you so you don't forget to ask? Making sure the landlord isn't crazy is always helpful . For comments on the pic , I think it was put there for humor , maybe slightly "over the top " but I thought it was amusing .

My husband was a pro painter for many years and I recall the paint crews talking about "BIN" quite a bit . It works great but they always made sure to have extra good ventilation .I guess the fumes are pretty toxic. With any paint it is a good idea to open up the windows , just be extra cautious with the BIN ! To the Polish Chick.......I am with ya on the "We" thing ! I couldn't figure out if they were doing everything as a group or just had multiple personalities! What is up with that anyway? ........I started painting my kitchen cabinets yesterday by the way so I was thrilled to see this post. Good tips! Thank you !
