I use both on a regular basis, and the biggest advice I have to PC users switching over is this. Be prepared for far less freeware than you're used to, particularly since the , be readdy for nag screens and shareware like hassles. Also get ready to be forced to upgrade your OS or be left behind. OSX has been doing cheap upgrades so it's not a big deal. But not being able to find software compatible with Leopard is irritating when just about everything that runs on Windows 7 will work on XP. Just a heads up for anyone thinking about Inkscape: It's a fine program on it's own, but if you plan on using it with Illustrator (especially newer versions) in any combination get ready for a huge headache. It works, but it's a major pain in the butt. Free Alternatives to Best-Selling Software |

Don't use a macbook :P. Seriously though, they're highly susceptible to heat problems because of how their cooling works. Raising is off the table by propping a book or something under it can make a huge difference. And don't use one of those rubber keyboard covers, it blocks a lot of the airflow. 4 Tips to Keep Your Laptop From Overheating During Summer |

I've been seriously considering one of these because I really don't need a full tablet, but I;d like something better to sketch on and read with etc. But $200+ on contract is a complete deal breaker, for that much I'd be better off getting a Kindle Fire and rooting it since I'd be rooting this anyways. I saw those or something incredibly similar at Haworth's showroom at the merchandise Mart in Chicago so I'm sure they've worked their way into a few commercial spaces. Big clusters of them look great hanging from the ceiling. Bouroullec's Clouds for Ligne Roset I Saloni 2012 |

They've had a service for companies where they send out boxes of curated materials for awhile now. I think they've done more with that than is on the website. It's very cool, but not anywhere near affordable for individuals. Inventables: A Hacker's Dream Come True Store Profile |

This is a great example of one of my biggest mac gripes. Tons of programs that have free equivalents (though not as slick) are paid software, or shareware with lots of nag screens. It's maddening just how little freeware there is for macs. TuneUp for iTunes Unplggd Test Labs | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |
