my partner is from india and he introduced me to pressure cooking. we mostly use it for indian meals but occasionally it comes out to cook rice, beans, or other grains for other types of dishes. Would love some good recipes outside of indian cuisine to use it for. I have tried a few with bad results.

i rarely trust recipe times, it always takes me longer. the only recipe times i trust are for ones ive made myself!

I take a lot of pictures of tags on clothing, bar codes, product info etc. A lot of times when you find something in a store you can find it online for cheaper. Ive found a lot of stuff for a fraction of the price online, exact same brand, style etc

my partner and I can fill a full size dishwasher in one day. Granted i even throw skillets and small pots in there (all dishwasher safe) so those can take up quite a bit of space. I work from home so I eat 3 meals here a day and cook everything from scratch. My Partner usually packs a lunch and has a container to wash when he gets home.

I also dont pack it full tho, seems like things dont get clean if stuff is too close together

haha i loved this episode too, super funny.

Really tho, they are good suggestions on making your home more luxurious and special.
Why not keep some nice (not so perishable) snacks around, a bottle of wine in the fridge, and a good movie loaded on the tv? It doesn't have to be excessive and wasteful to pamper yourself.

my signature veg dish isspinach stuffed shells like @drewparadise . I use ricotta instead of cream cheese tho. Its simple and can be refrigerated a day ahead and baked just before serving. serve with a nice salad and crusty garlic bread! If there are omnivores in the crowd you can make some with sausage or even have some simple buttered shrimp on the side.

I remember we learned cooking in 4th grade. I remember making chocolate chip cookies, tacos, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Pretty much all traditionally kid friendly foods.

I think the individual (possibly crustless?) quiches @GSEWAKE suggested are a great idea. I'm imagining they could cut up lunch meats, pepperonis, herbs, green onions etc with clean kitchen scissors if knives are not an option. They can be prepared in the tin foil cupcake liners and baked for easier clean up (i make these for breakfasts in foil cupcake liners sometimes). I know the kitchen has a post somewhere about crustless quiche ideas/recipes.

i use springpad too, my favorite is that it syncs up nicely. my partner also has the app on his phone, i can make a shopping list and he can shop from it, which is super cool. I usually make it a task list tho as its easier to load, see the list, and check things off while at the store. You can also easily re-add items to your list if they are weekly staples

i also prefer my spinach raw. I do enjoy it cooked in a few things, such as saag indian dishes. The recipe I use makes a puree out of the cooked spinach so there isnt much remaining texture.

the sink ontop of a toilet is a water saving thing, i have seen it in a lot of restaurants and businesses that are environmentally conscience. the idea is the water used by the last person to wash their hands is recycled into the tank for the next persons flush.

there are 4 stores within 10 blocks of me, a safeway, albersons, whole foods, and King soopers (Kroger) - i find all fairly pleasant king soopers and safeway usually win out for my weekly groceries although I will occasionally pop in to whole foods or albertsons if they have a good sale or i want something specific they carry.

i hear sunflower and sprouts are good but the closest one is 30 min away, i know thats not much as many people drive further but for me convenience wins out, adding an extra hour to grocery shopping (which i already hate) isnt worth it!

no m&m's but i do enjoy a small square of chocolate and a big handful of roasted salted nuts (always more nuts than chocolate!). It makes a fairly guilt free quick dessert with no clean up or dishes (if served in your hand!).

Just something to throw in, my partner who was raised in the middle east was a lot more helpless than american born and raised me. Before his first day of college in Canada he had never washed a dish or done his own laundry - over there even lower middle class has house staff, add in a stay at home mother and he never really did a thing.
Fast forward 10 years later he prefers to do a lot of the chores around the house, citing that I dont do them right, even though I have 20+ years of experience with most of them. Hes a lot more responsible with them than I am even though he never did them.

Overall though, i feel like having to do chores and be responsible for things as a kid prepared me well for adult hood. When i moved out at 19 I could cook my own meals, budget my money, keep my place up to a livable standard.

I have a balcony garden and dont have a lot of space for bushy plants, and prefer vines on the walls and railings. I seem to have found similar ones to everyone else:
My top three are nasturtium, black eyed susan, and Morning glories (but i get the heavenly blue variety Lorelski mentioned is less aggressive). These three are always the first 3 i put in my cart when ordering seeds every year.
