I will sometimes even make my bed when I come home from work, even to mess it up a few hours later, just cause it feels that good.

I'm looking for Philadelphia too. I've got nothing.

I think it's funny that the lamp cord is always down the side of the dresser when it could so easily be tucked behind. Is that, like, "new and casual"?

Every time I see that artichoke lamp (or the Ikea version), I think of fingernails and it makes me ICK!

Pub & Kitchen- one of my favorite Philadelphia restaurants - has a row of exposed bulbs on the ceiling. It's subtle and I like it.

I *just* hung them over the little cutout in the wall where my kitchen looks onto a hallway. I have to hang the stockings from ribbons tied to my sink faucet, but I make it work.

I love their truffle cheese. And the cheese guys are more than generous with their samples. They have more than 500 cheeses in their cheese cave!

Lots of times this past summer I would pick up picnic items there then go hear the Philadelphia and New York Pops on the lawn at the Mann Center.

Was that blue painting (and blue frame) once in the uwishunu.com hotel room in the Westin in Philadelphia?

Hear, hear!

For design, you must check out the Perelman Building at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Amazing design, there.

What about shops like Hello Home, Minima, or Bulb?

Designers like Josh Owen or Jaime Salm of MIO Culture?

And to step away from design for a moment: Philly has incredible BYOBs and non-BYOB restaurants (think Jose Garces, Marc Vetri). We have adorable boutiques (Sugarcube, JimmyStyle). Our neighborhoods are walkable. We have loads of bike trails. Our beer scene is consistently praised. Our schools are impressive, and our people are friendly.

I, clearly, am a huge Philly fan.

Thanks for the round up! B&B's do offer a home-away-from home feeling. The Penns View Hotel, Rittenhouse 1715, Morris House Hotel and The Independent are also smaller hotels (not B&Bs).

@FantasticMrFaux

We (Philly Tourism, and our blog www.uwishunu.com) actually hosted a bunch of Philly bloggers at the Lippincott House to update them on what's going on in Philly this summer, and to introduce them to the Lippincott House, the new caterer, our uwishunu.com blog and our company, GPTMC.

The appetizers were provided by b*smiths gourmet catering and included: ahi tuna spring roll with mango soy sauce, Schuylkill spring roll 'wit whiz', cilantro corn fritters and more. (http://bsmithscatering.com)

The B&B is located at 2023 Locust Street, just two blocks away from Rittenhouse Square, a main, active, lovely green space in Center City Philadelphia. Some of our most upscale shopping and great dining is right in that area as well.

The B&B is also near some great home design stores, like Hello Home or Bulb.

The Japanese House & Garden -- or, Shofuso, as it's called -- is lovely. My friend got married there in her bare feet!

Here's more on it (from the Tourism office): http://tinyurl.com/ldrxrm

I'm sure I could check with my insurance company, but does anyone know if master insurance policies usually have a say about this?

I'm not a negative person! I *wish* this doorknob worked great... it just didn't.

Hmmm. I might be biased, but I feel it's a little harsh for Philadelphia. A knife-wielding Eagles fan? Sheesh!

That said, the artist is clearly talented.

I got the bubbled glass doorknob, and I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed. The base (the part that screws into the door) is smaller than today's standard doorknobs so I'd have to replace my door and start fresh to get it to work. It also seems to be missing some screws -- there are two spaces for screws on either side, but without matching screws I feel they would look strange.
