I agree with standupstapler. The razor one is very shocking, though.

You could cut the fingers off and get a new pair. If/When the new pair gets holes, pop the old fingers into the new ones. Insta-fix.

I don't know which I enjoyed more - the floppy idea or the discussion that ensued. Wunami: that's what I do. I keep a list of my passwords in code form so the snooper would have to first figure out the secret code to the password.

I'd love to have it as a daily reminder. What a great philosophy. Frankly, it is the first time I've seen it. I'll have to be more observant when I read AT.

This is positively creepy. I like Lladros and I can't believe that this is one! This definitely gets filed under "What Were They Thinking?!?!?

I have silicone bakeware. they are really hard to keep clean. No matter how I clean them, they always feel greasy. Of course, I don't have a dishwasher, but I do wash dishes in extremely hot water.

I was so frustrated about four years ago, replacing the incandescent lightbulbs - it felt like there was at least one bulb that needed replacing every month. I started the switch to CFL's and (I am a tightwad so this is high praise for something with a higher up-front cost) I have had to replace only one CFL in three years!!!! They really are worth it and you get used to the slight delay when turning them on pretty quickly. I have not had a single problem in any of my light fixtures with them.

I hate the amount of plastic I use and would love to switch to something like this, but do they keep the food fresh? I just envision hard bread and withered cold cuts by the time I get my lunch hour.

I recently bought measuring cups which are shaped like these scoops. I love them for all kinds of things, including measuring.

I've been called everything from a hopeless pack rat to an avid collector. This definitely looks like a book to excite that impulse in me. Thanks for the heads up!

Hope he gets the job. I enjoyed his video from start to finish. Loved the part when he said a good tool to use would be a router, but he had lent his to a friend. Great stuff, great delivery.

I've read every comment and even laughed out loud at the squirrel lamp. It is weird. Instead of the worst gifts I've ever gotten, it got me thinking about the worst gifts I've (inadvertently) given. When my sister bought her first home, she had a couple of prints of outhouses in her upstairs bathroom. Next Christmas I gave her a lamp of an outhouse complete with moon-shaped cutout on door! I wonder if she sometimes shakes her head and thinks, "What WAS my sister thinking?"

What about a nice glass or wood cutting board? Even one of those plastic ones might do the job.

Oh, all I can see are the crumbs that will inevitably fall between toaster and cradle thingy. It is anything but streamlined. I have to say thumbs down on this one.

I don't understand why, once the ModPodge dries, it doesn't just peel off the tile, even with the polyurethane. Wouldn't you have to prep the tile first somehow? Sorry to be a buzz kill.

I'm currently using one of those fabric memo boards (with the ribbon that goes criss-cross across it) with pretty flower head pins to display/store jewelry. If I put jewelry in a box, it is out of sight/out of mind. This way I can see chains, pins, earrings and they are just as easy to put back.

I love this project. One question: I live in an apartment with extreme temperatures: deadly hot in winter and constant a/c in the summer. I would be afraid that the contact paper would not stay up. Anyone have a tip for that?

Actually, looking at the juxtaposition of the retro pieces and the updated look at the lamp took my breath away. I love, love, love, the linen with the white. I wish I had the vision for something like this. And the rug? It pulls it all together. It is a keeper for more reasons than that it is an heirloom.
