Same problem! I'm a transplant from Ohio to SoCal. I choose to blatantly ignore the fact it's not fall outside and dress as warmly as the weather will permit, put on fall-scented perfumes, eat soups and squash, and decorate with leaves that my family sends me. If you can take at least one weekend to go somewhere fallish. I'm planning to go to the mountains to catch some semblance of Fall as soon as I can. How To "Fake" the Fall Season in Florida? I had a tomato plant that got a woody stem only about a month after planting it. After it produced two tomatoes, it looked lost. Then, I chopped off the main stalk and it's exploded ever since. I was just thinking about this in regards to music. The music I listen to is very popular in the "I don't listen to radio" circles which makes it too popular for the "I only listen to vinyl" circles. I don't actually think the music I listen to is necessarily superior, better quality music than the stuff on the radio, I just get to choose when I hear it so I don't get sick of it from overplay. I hate when a song I like ends up on the radio and is subjected to being played twice an hour for three months. I know I'm going to hate that song eventually simply because I keep hearing it. I feel like Pinterest has helped me make choices on what to buy. If I'm looking for something, say, a pair of shoes or an iPhone cover, I pin a bunch of options. Then, when I want to buy I can look at my shopping, days or weeks later, and choose one. It gives me time to think about it without losing track of what I like. I pin a lot of wall art and I intend to purchase 90% of it eventually. When I have the money, I can look at my favorites and buy the one I want most. I use cotija cheese in my guac... I don't remember where I learned that. One of my Mexican coworkers or friends' parents, I guess. It's a little salty so you don't have to add as much actual salt. I've had lots of rave reviews. How to Make Better Guacamole: Tips from Two Food Writers |

My cat scratches through plastic cat liners as soon as I put them in, so no on those. I agree with Joan A. on the sifter trays too... the holes get clogged and it's more work and messier than a regular litterbox. Sadly. My younger cousin just bought my Grandma's house for her first place (Grandma needs some help and my cousin's family needed a home..). While I think my cousin probably could have bought a nicer, more updated house, I'm secretly pleased that even when my Grandma passes, the house will still be in the family. I lived in a space at least that small in college and it seems like it was more roomy than this. I always think these people don't have hobbies. How would I sew? And how do you do DIY projects (I guess you don't because you have no place to put them anyway)? No garden, no animals, I think the bathroom was too big. Use the desk or add a small vanity outside the bathroom. My bathroom at home is half that size. California's Smallest Legal Apartment: SmartSpace |

I spent two days with a group of people in the Philippines scrubbing mud off this type of chair after their typhoon. They seem easy to take care of, but they have lots of nooks and crannies and I have no desire to ever clean this type of chair again! Although I am intrigued by the colorful ones. When you use it as a deodorant and it's irritating, that's because of the baking soda. Decrease or remove the baking soda and substitute arrowroot or more corn starch. To people that said it doesn't work... It does, you're body just gets used to the chemical deodorants and it takes about a week to detox. After that week natural deodorants will work just as well. I grew up in a house where scents and candles were a no-no. I was so excited when I could move out and use my own scents. The last three places a lived, scents were also pretty off-limits. One roommate got a headache from them, and in the other it was her house and I was just renting so I didn't want to take over. The Fragrance of Home: Making Sense of How Your Home Smells |

I've been living far from home the last 4 years and never go back since I'll head back for Christmas. The first year away, I hosted an "orphan Thanksgiving" for friends that also lived away from home or didn't get along with their families. The last two years I've gone to national parks to camp. They're empty except for international tourists on Thanksgiving! And being in nature makes it easy to celebrate "Buy Nothing Day" on Friday. Celebrating Thanksgiving When You Are Far From Family |
