I'd highly recommend a portable unit over a casement mount. For starters, unless you plan on staying for a long time, install and removal of window units is a PAIN! Plus, you may still need to pop on your own for support bars or extra insulation.

If you opt for a portable unit, make sure its one of the newer models where you don't have to empty a tank full of water.
