Always a long, short sleeve nightgown, no panties. Have a houseful of young sons so have to be covered but have to air out the privates per OB-GYN! besides, pj pants always get twisted around and make me nuts!

When I was 12 my delightful parakeet, trained and with the run of the house, flew out the sliding door when it was left open by a visiting child. Terrified for him, the whole family went ranging the neighborhood calling for him without luck. I went to bed in tears.

The next day my dad was mowing the lawn and caught a glimpse of him (he was a blue and white one) in the hedge behind the house, and when he held up his finger the poor thing went right to it. He was quivering in terror. After that, he never ever went out a window or door, no matter how long it was left open!

I love this house- my only concerns at 1) cleaning the tile in the bathroom- even the tile ceiling in mine has to be cleaned and it is a much smaller space, and 2) lack of handrail for stairs. Probably not an issue now but for visitors, when the owner is ill, pregnant or older it might well be.

Otherwise, fabulous!

I have extremely dry, sensitive, dermagraphic skin, and the only soap I can use is Dove :( every other soap I have tried makes me want to scratch constantly, even when I moisturize afterwards (as I always do). If any other the above posters have the same kind of skin and have found something else that works, I would love to hear about it!

My very favorite inheritance from my dear grandmother is her potato masher, worn handle and all. It works better than any other one I have ever encountered as well as reminding me of making dinner with her as a child. I love it even more than the full set of blue and white Spode I also inherited. It brings so much more to my life than new or a mixer, and acts as a springboard to family stories and memories. and now my kids all want to inherit it from me. all from a simple kitchen tool that cost $.50 in 1936.
