Surprisingly, the thing does actually have drawers -- they kept on falling out while they were attempting to put the thing into place. They did, however, have trouble figuring out where you actually sit in relationship to the thing. I'm sorry - I just can't stop calling it "thing".

@gildeddawn -- that made my eyes tear up because I want one so bad! If I ever drink soda (besides seltzer) I always go for Cherry Soda and I have special love for Cherry Garcia - the two together might just send me over the edge.

Fudgy chocolate, caramel or lemon for me. Pretty much nothing else will do. Or so I tell myself in an attempt to limit consumption.

We did this when I was a kid - but my Russian family called it "sgushionka" (my hubby and I just had a 5 minute discussion on how to write out the name in English letters). My husband, who is Hispanic, had no concept of dulce de leche strangely enough until I introduced him to it, but I guess it is not that common in New Mexico where he grew up. I still crave it sometimes, but the sheer amount of sugar and my inability to control myself around it keep me from popping the can into the pot of water.

I thought the Vanilla flavor ones were amazing - chewy and just right, the chocolate were strangely not at all - they were hard and the flavor was not there.

The croissants ARE to die for!! They are self managing too - you have to defrost them for 9 hours, which means that if you defrost only two that is all there will be to eat. PS: Defrost only as many as you SHOULD eat - because if you defrost more, YOU WILL eat them.

Ha! I guess I just confirmed just how Russian I am - I had virtually the same breakfast this morning!! Except the gooseberries - haven't had those since I was a kid in Russia :/.

And TEA!! that iced water (or is it VODKA?! which is just a horrible stereotype) should really be a cup of hot tea - loose leaf, no tea bags!

I am fifthing the Victorinox. Mine came with a cooking class I took a few years ago, and I have not been interested in another knife since. They look cheaper than many, but function better than most.

Palak Paneer is one of my favorite Indian dishes, but that picture from Epicurious is INCREDIBLY unappetizing.

oh - and our family makes latkes with matzo meal, which having tested it versus flour definitely makes the recipe better. Same amounts and same manner of mixing in gradually. There is just something better about them with the matzo meal.

I have to say that using the iPad in the kitchen was one of the first thoughts that crossed my mind. That and the eReader functionality is where it ends for me though. The lack of flash and small memory will probably make me hold off on the purchase.

I am also not sure about the two hands required for usage in the kitchen. When I cook, my kitchen barely has space for me to lay down a cutting board! I know that there are adapters that you can stand it up in, but I hate clutter created by peripherals.

We are a four laptop plus and iPod Touch two person family. And although that probably makes us the ideal target market for the iPad, at this point, we are not biting.

Brownies -- the fudgier and chewier the better. Nothing disappoints me more than a dry, cake-like brownie.

I have to say - a good chunk of warm, fresh, crusty bread would be almost impossible to resist. The no-knead bread recipes have made staying away from just that kind of bread virtually impossible!

hmmm... strangely enough I actually think this opens up a great world of baking possibilities. Mini cakes, muffin tops, cookies, mini custard pies...
I totally had no idea what a whoopie pie was until I met my now husband either!! And I have lived in US since I was 11.

I got a complete Cable Knit bed set as a holiday present and I love it. I thought it was a bit old school and would look too "frilly" for my taste, but when I made the bed it looked so comfortable, simple and just right. Love it. Our set is from Private Quarters -- looks very similar to the Marcel Miller.

I'm happy to see so many people redeeming the pastry cutter!! I would have never ever thought of it as a UNITASKER?!!
As rarely as I use it as a pastry cutter, I use it constantly for quick salads: egg, salmon, tuna, etc. It's a MUST for guacamole in our house. I used to use it for mashed potatoes, but the handle is a tad short and my hand gets hot. Pastry cutters are a must! oh, and they must be blade, never wire.

I could not figure out what the first picture had to do with the rest until I read the comments!! I had no CLUE that the first picture was the front of the house!! I actually think the interior and the new back are interesting, but when I know they are an addition/renovation of a historic Victorian home I think the combination is horrendous! The lack of respect for existing context is disappointing.

The architect seems to have made the poor home schizophrenic!
