I picked this mat up a few years ago and it's still going strong. I do live on the third floor so it doesn't see a lot of grime. I love it.

I thought there were plenty of thoughtful ideas here. Nice looking space. I more or less agree that this could have had more details on the items that aren't readily available. I have a feeling a good amount of the readers are familiar with the commercial elements here.

I have a problem with the knife rack too, but actually just because it seems unsanitary. The mirror above our bathroom vanity covers the entire wall above the counter. The sink is about the same distance away from the mirror as Katie's sink is from her knives. Our mirror has to be cleaned everyday because sink splatter ends up grossing it up. I cringed automatically when I saw that.

The couch looks amazing! Wish that blue would work in our apartment.

One of our cats doesn't scratch anything. The other scratches- EVERYTHING. When he would start scratching furniture, from the very beginning I would move him to scratching posts, cardboard scratchers, and so on.

Now he knows I will pay attention to him when he scratches furniture. So, that worked out well for him. He trained me. He even does it when he is ready for breakfast and I'm still in bed.

For whatever reason, he scratches metal and glass as well. I find smeary cat prints in my bathroom mirror all the time.

But, with out local animal control having a euthanasia rate of 90% for cats, I don't think I'll be doing something as selfish and getting rid of him.

Ah! My husband and I were JUST watching Bill Nye the Science guy, and this was one of the experiments.

They said "Don't drink it!" so many times, it made us want to chug a gallon of moss-milk.

I don't mind this- I think the shade style could make or break this look easily.

I think that if this were a post about reusing books in horrible condition, it would probably be better received. Uses for your well-loved books that you can't stand to part with, and so on.

But the fact that this is something you can purchase- it just comes off as being so outrageously pretentious. I can't be bothered to read these!

Growing up, my family had a dishwasher and my husband's did not- I hated loading the dishwasher (if my brother and I didn't load it perfectly, we got a mini-lesson from my dad- "...and plates go HERE, so you can fit more HERE, and...") and my husband hated hand washing the dishes. Now I hand wash the pots and pans and he loads all of the other dishes in the dishwasher.

My parents really stressed cleaning up after oneself immediately- so now I'm as anal as they are. I do a quick run-through after I get home from work... clean the bathroom mirror, wipe down bathroom and kitchen counters, put everything away, and dust & tidy the furniture. Takes about 15 minutes a day, and then on Saturday all I have to do is vacuum and mop. My husband cleans the toilet and takes out the garbage- which makes getting married totally worth it, IMO.

A quick google search- mostly sleeves. Who would have thought, this conversation is totally pointless?

If the First Lady was parading around in the typical First Lady pantsuit, we'd be having a much different conversation. No doubt it would be even more disrespectful and pointless.

Agree with sally305, but overall, looks comfy and I bet it's especially nice in person. Wish I could see the rest, but love that deep grey. Nearly painted our bedroom that exact color, but it turns out I'm too much of a pansy.
