Introducing The World's Ugliest Condo Renovation Diary

I made banana muffins on Saturday morning, using a healthier recipe than usual.

On Saturday afternoon I had friends bring bratwursts over for grilling, and I made spaetzle with sharp cheddar and french fried onions for toppings.

And this morning I'm making french toast with homemade berry syrup for me and and my partner. It's been a good weekend for cooking!

@Jessamy, yeah, that didn't really seem to fit with the tone of this article. Or the site, considering there's usually such cool-looking stuff on here.

That said, I'm picky about my decorations anyway, so I don't have a whole ton. For Halloween I stay away from gorey (see above) and tend to go for retro, gothic, and glittery things. Just retro and glittery for Christmas if I can help it, but my boyfriend and I have some different tastes in that area, so we make a cheerful compromise.

And how much is the floral company paying you to run this? Ick...agreeing with the above comments re: self-absorption.

"If you don't have champagne, cheap wine will do."

This saying works in so many situations. My mom helped me learn to be happy with what I have, and to utilize what I have to work with, whether it be food, money, or the craft supplies in my closet.
