Haha, VLS- I have a flokati there now! :-) I change it out for the season. It doesn't work in the warmer months, but it is there now. Here is a photo! I have a few pillow changes too but I haven't gotten quite ready yet! Thanks for the comments. http://urbanjane.blogspot.com/2011/10/changing-of-guards-or-rugs-for-season.html Megan's "Woodstock Modern" Room |

Hi there! Thanks everyone. I got the rug from FLOR (tiles). I love my coffee table too! It is vintage off of ebay, and it just fits so perfectly for us there. The Chandelier is not real horns, just a well made repro. :-) Megan's "Woodstock Modern" Room |

I like the look, we have rugs because we have small dogs that like to play and wrestle and don't do it on the hardwood (I don't blame them) but too many accidents on their play area have me thinking that I am going to take them up and do away. This was great inspiration. I hope the downstairs neighbors don't mind! Going Rugless: Bare Floor Inspiration |

Great job Chris! When I had a kitchen like yours with only a smidge of counter space, I bought a huge but not heavy wood cutting board that fit over the entire sink. It really make a big difference! I think it cost $7, and you can use non toxic wood stains to make it attractive. Chris's 280 Square Foot Mini Modern House Tour |

I agree that it would be even better with just two tones instead of three, but I still think it is kinda cool. I don't think it was a piece of art really before. It isn't one of those uber amazing mcm credenza's 68" long that sell for 2K. This was a very simple piece that could use some improvement. I would however clean up the chords and I couldn't help but be immediately distracted by the HUGE tv on top and the other "items" dried flowers, live flowers and the iconic statue in the back... So are the interior livingroom and kitchen wall panels plywood? They remind me of the ecoclad panels. We have a MCM house with wood panel walls and this treatment would be very easy to install over the top for a cleaner look. Can you confirm these panels are birch plywood? When renovating our master bathroom, I wanted to design something unique but something that would "age" well. I think grey is such a timeless color and though I haven't completed the "Jewelry" on the bathroom I am glad I used it instead of sticking with just a white on white theme. I love all of the photos above. Greige and Gold: Hot Color Combination |

We have a weekend home, and thought I have wanted desperately to do this type of treatment there, I cannot do it with the wood we use for our fireplace and our woodstove for the reasons mentioned above. We don't keep the wood anywhere near the house for that reason. Carpenter ants love it- not to mention all other sorts of bugs. With that said, I have been looking for nice birch logs and I am going to purchase some other wood as well to decorate with. Yes, it will be decor- but it DOES have a great feel and look. I live part time in Woodstock/NYC and I think it is appropriately priced. It is true you can find something bigger for the same price about 2 hours out- but they aren't as nice, have no views, and are in areas that are just as inconvenient. There is another renovated church right now in Woodstock that is for sale for much much more money. I toured it and though it is nicer and in a far better area- it pretty much has no usable bedroom, just small seperate spaces. A Converted 1850's Chapel in Upstate New York |

I love how clean this menagerie is. I always seem to struggle with hanging my art. I guess they say that hanging art well is an art in and of itself. Bravo! Ken's Mixed Media Dream House House Tour |

I couldn't tell if I was looking at a house call or an IKEA ad. This is all well put together but I feel what happened here is what I am always in constant fear of happening to me as well. Everything is very seamless but it screams IKEA showroom. That is the one problem I guess with a great affordable design store for the home. We all know it and can spot it. I am not taking away from what has been accomplished here, I just wish I would see a few more pieces that I didn't know where they were from. Laurie's East Village Home House Call |

agreed- too small for the space. I think a 6x8 or 6x9 rug would be better. Because the rest of the room is tonally similiar the rug is a huge focal point right now and only highlights it's size. If you want your rug to be the focal point, just get a larger version and coordinate accent pieces in the darker tones on the sofa or in pieces of art on the wall. Right now the floor, sofa, chairs, and walls are almost all withing a few shades depth wise. The rug is the pop at this point and it is too small. Do We Need to Replace this Rug? Good Questions |

Keep it for sure. I do agree on changing the faucet if possible, and besides the appliances- I would also see if you could put some type of built in unit above the sink, or open shelving right above the tile line continued on up, and continue tall cabinets above the tile line on the side where the range is. I like the look of the butcher block with the farm sink, and I always like incorporating a bit of marble with that as well where you can. Should We Keep this Vintage Sink in Updated Kitchen? Since you are planning on ripping out those cabinets you have a great opportunity to play around first with painting them different colors to see what you like. You can even get different wood veneer pieces and stain them and tack them up. You can sand those cabinets and paint them pretty easily. Start with white naturally- and go from there. Take pics of the different choices so you will have a reference. What Color Cabinets for Condo Kitchen? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |

One other comment- I used two bananas- about a tablespoon of peanut butter and cocoa powder. It made the right amount for two people. I was shocked that someone said they used 4 or 5 bananas and it was only a serving for 1??? I thought it was extremely economic and low fat.
