You are SO flippin wrong about this!!!! THIS is the extreme wastefulness of our culture!! We spend ALL our time outside IN FRONT of our house!! That's where people are! It's only in the WASTEFUL suburbs that people sequester themselves away from their neighbors!! I get such a kick out of my down the street neighbor who loves to tell everyone that he spent 16 K landscaping his backyard--guess where he spends all his time-- on his 2k blacktopped driveway talking to us! What a hoot. Wake the heck up America! Stop spending on crap--spend your treasure on RELATIONSHIPS!!

woah, woah, everybody!!!!!! ditch the chemicals--even the "natural" ones!! get yourself a stash of Mr. Clean Magic erasers for goodness sakes! Takes the stuff off the grout-- no elbow grease. You will, however, need one pad per shower, maybe two. I buy the cheap ones from the dollar store.

There is a reason #4 is correct. You have the formula wrong for the others. Also, I think you need to take the style of the lamp into account-this is a mid-century lamp--"coolie" style doesn't work with that!

Actually, it's better to brush cabinets than spray them. The sprayed on surface is too "perfect". One nick and that's all you'll see. I do think oil is the only way to get the right "drag time" on your brush no matter what they tell you at the big box stores about enamel being just as good. So get ready to ventilate!

Boy-- no kidding ChrisGal! Once you've purchased a fabulous "find" from the thrift store (ninety dollar, white 60's sofa that had been covered in plastic-woo hoo!) it becomes difficult to spend more than that on ANYTHING! A blessing and a curse for those of us garage sale-ers. It has taught me patience and perseverance--to say nothing of the extreme frustration when you are right behind the person who finds "it" first! The motto has to be--"If it's meant to be, it'll come to me!"

I am SO tired of everyone just PITCHING perfectly good furnishings just because the "shabby chic" look is no longer "chic". What an unbelievable waste! And these are the same people buying Priuses to try to convince us that they have some kind of connection to the eco world. Get a life. If your furniture is clean and serviceable, just LIVE with it! (OR you could go with what our previous president wanted us to do which was was to BUY, BUY, BUY with no regard to anything, whatsoever)! Americans are absolutely THE most WASTEFUL animals on this planet--go to Darfur, live there for a week, THEN figure out how to re-furnish your domicile! Wake UP America! Would you at least LISTEN to our new president? Geez..Louise!!
