I'm with kariwk, no alarm clock is best. I found having an alarm, just encouraged me to delay getting up. I either wake up on time, at the same time the same day -- or when I need to wake earlier, the fear that I will oversleep and be late is enough to get me out of bed.

Hmm.., I take baths rarely, but when I do, I fill the tub up to the bottom of the safety drain. The problem is once I get into the tub, the water level rises and goes down the drain. So for me, this drain cover thingy would actually save water.

However, the posts above are correct when they say that in a clawfoot tub you want to be careful about the weight of the additional water - and no faucet should ever be submerged for health and sanitation reasons.

Or you could just use a plate over the bowl. As long as the plate does not touch the food in the bowl, it stays clean and ready to be used again for it's primary purpose...

When I rented in Pittsburgh, a very nice couple moved into the apartment next door because the house they bought had been condemed shortly after they closed. Apparently the previous owners had trained their cats to use the heating vents in the floor instead of the litterbox, years of urine caused toxic mold, deteriorated the foundation to the point of being unsafe, not too mention the smell. For the inspection the previous owners had used such an overpowering amount of carpet fresh or similar it wasn't possible to smell anything but the fragrance -- and worse they built false walls in the basement to hide the crumbling foundation. Needless to say my neighbors were suing the previous owner. It has been a cautionary tale for me to keep in mind as I look for a house to buy.

I agree with scarletdog - I really want/need a good storage bed and will most likely need to make it myself. I don't want to spend thousands or event too many hundreds on it. I'm looking for some ideas for a good storage bed that is not too heavy or expensive.
