I made this last spring. It was awesome, and I actually think it IS pretty!

I made those owl cupcakes for Halloween! But mine were "demented."

My grandmother always made them into little quarter-sized biscuits - and only at Christmas. I love 'em.

Not really related, but loosely so.

I use an olive oil dispenser, too. (As mentioned above me.) I read on here a few weeks back about diluting the soap with half water, and I just have to say THANKS. Works perfectly.

I love peanut butter in my ice cream, but I have no clue how to get it in there without just mixing it in!

And are those chocolate-covered cracker/cookies from Trader Joe's? That's what the package reminds me of. I need them, like, now.

I have never seen such a thing. We have two huge black walnut trees, and my parents have some, too. We never actually eat the walnuts, though, because they're a PAIN to shell. (I believe a time-honored method involves driving over them with your car.)

Love the Mason jars, too.

I'm not sure why it would be considered tacky. It's a LOT less tacky than a groom heading up his bride's dress to retrieve her garter and throw it into the audience. Ick!

My husband's groom's cake was a huge Cubs logo, made by my cousin. We served it for dessert at the rehearsal dinner. He loved it. (My brothers-in-law got a Darth Vader cake and a Spongebob cake, all made by my same cousin, all served at rehearsal dinners.)

I can't believe people don't know about them. Haven't you seen Steel Magnolias?! "It's got gray icing! People are gonna be hacking into this poor animal that looks like it's bleeding to death!" (It was a red-velvet armadillo.)

Totally off-topic, but it's also a FABULOUS restaurant in Asheville, N.C. (I see the city mentioned above!) Go there if you ever visit.

I love broccoli slaw, but I try not to make it but MAYBE once a year because of the ingredients!

This is right up my alley and would be perfect for our Mother's Day lunch. I think I'd prefer cranberries, too, and I'm going to check out Smitten's dressing.

I love when a great post leads to great comments and suggestions. Thanks!

Some say this stew originated in Brunswick County, N.C., and in fact it's served at pretty much every barbecue joint in Eastern N.C.

*Just thought my state should be included, too!*
