Before they closed up - I used Pop Up Pantry. It was a 3 course meal fully prepared and flash frozen and was AMAZING. All created by high end chefs and using local (CA) ingredients. It was the cost of a meal out, with the convenience of eating in and I loved it.

As far as this - with just all the ingredients and you just assemble, I'm not sure as I'd be so inclined as part of the allure of the above was hubby (who can barely boil a hot dog and doesn't want to compete w/ my skills anyway) could set up a meal when I worked late. So I think I'd just stick to continuing to buy my own stuff and prep for the price.

Emma - what Red Curry Paste do you recommend? I've only recently discovered that there are 2 types out there and often what I find is the "basic" version. Very pale in flavor and absolutely no spice/heat.

BATTRA92 - No, they're saying that of all water consumption, a fourth of it can be tied to usage for food that is ultimately wasted. We could be saving 25% of our annual water usage by eliminating this food waste.

Nadia G on Bitchin' Kitchen did these - and they looked very yummy. First time I'd heard of it: http://bitchinlifestyle.tv/Bitchin-Kitchen/Recipes/Bitchin-Supperclub/STEAMED-PORK-BELLY-BUNS.html

I love the command strips with the velcro attachment. They hold strong (I've got a rotating gallery art wall in one room) and come off clean!

As far as the mirrors - I got some 12x12 wood frames on clearance and took out the glass and put the mirrors in. They look WAY more expensive than they were and I get lots of compliments.

I love steamed buns... perhaps I'll have to give it a go.

Cooking with Dog is one of my favorites as well! I made gyudon for the first time with her instruction/recipe and it was sooo amazing. :)

My dad always made it quite simply "pasta and cheese" - elbow mac and cheese in a dish and baked till bubbly.

My current fav - a nice white sauce with lots of fresh chopped garlic sauteed in the butter first. Then a mix of sharp cheddar and colbyjack. Elbow macaroni, a bit of pepper, a bit of mustard - mix - pour into a dish. Top with crushed garlic croutons and bake. Absolutely fantastic!

Paper scorer and HOT water and vinegar with a rag. Let the moisture sit for a bit to really get into the paper/paste. Did the whole house - and the vinegar smell dissipated far quicker than any chemical would have, plus I had no worries about pets or disposal.

Michael W. - that's an effect due to the way power cycles. Kind of like the refresh on a monitor - if set to low you see a flicker.

LED's can turn on and off so fast (no cooling filament) that the slight pulse of the electricity from the wall itself is actually visible. Mfr's would have to account for this to regulate the flow to keep the LED lit more consistently. :D

Aimi - the link says that the lemonade was made with honey which must be giving it the denser color.

Foam pump soap dispensers - I use a lot less water trying to get soap to suds up, and in turn less soap.

BetterBombshell - "storage unit" doesn't have to mean the type that you pay monthly for at one of those big complexes down the road. Some apartments/condos have basements with individual "storage units" for each tenant to use.

Though Sarah would have to confirm...

I agree! I thought I had something very bizarre going on health wise, and my husband had the same symptoms. Trying to decide if we needed to schedule a checkup, I did a quick search - and came across the "pine mouth" problem.

Reflecting, I realized we'd both had hummous with pine nuts a few days before. It tainted everything you ate, and was almost like trying to have an appetite while dealing with the flu. I too am reluctant to indulge in them again if there's risk of going through all of that once more.

An exhaust fan has to exhaust somewhere. So if you're not placing it in the ceiling (and presumably venting out through the attic somewhere) then it would need to go out an exterior wall.

If the bathroom has a window that can open, then an exhaust (in most areas - please check local codes) isn't required.

You're trying to draw moist air out of the room, not just push it around (which just a mounted fan would do) which is why you need to do "surgery".

Thank you for this! I had never tried poaching before as I wasn't quite sure the best way to go about it and always feared a horrible egg soup end to it.

I got up the gumption after this post, and it was fantastic! I've had to shy away from eggs, as the fat needed to fry in tends to upset my stomach. These I can enjoy all day!

A poached egg and a buttermilk crumpet. I am a happy reader.
