Craigslist will sometimes have perforated steel sheets for sale by business owners which can work like peg board too.

Pegboard can end up looking cluttered if there's no design element incorporated into it ... but if you think about it in terms of "display" as well as pragmatic (think of bookshelves ... sharing books with personal elements, photos, rocks, etc.), it can have a cool look to it.

The pegboard wall I have for pots and pans has been up for four years and has held up well. I think using the paint/poly helped keep it looking good.

Scoot and Mike - thanks for the info/feedback. I appreciate it. :)

Is there a way to "seal" pegboard so that water does not affect its durability? I have a pegboard wall for pots and pans.Even though the board was already white, I painted over it with white acrylic paint and a water based flat gloss so that I could wipe it down without destroying the face material. This works fine for wiping it down with cleaner, but I don't think it's enough to stand up to back-splash territory. Any suggestions?

How cool would it be to have something like this as a part of a shower wall?? :)
