Thanks AT!

An update and some clarifications:

Those boxes were a lot bigger than they seem in the picture. At the time of taking it, both cats (then kittens) could comfortably share a single box at once (and often did... yuck).

As they got bigger, I replaced it with a single larger (actually, enormous) plastic bin. I cut a large hole in the lid with a box cutter and sanded the edges smooth. I also added an inexpensive doormat to the setup to help contain litter. At 11 lbs each, both cats can comfortably do their business without bumping their heads. Being able to see through the clear sides lets them watch what's going outside the box, which I understand is a major problem with opaque covered boxes.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the new box -- the closet is a mess right now, and I didn't think people would want to look at catboxes :)

There were top-entry boxes at Petsmart and such, but they were overpriced, dark and seemed way too small.

I have a safe deposit box at the bank with my important documents, my grandmother's jewelry, and hard drive backups on DVDs. It gives me peace of mind, and it also doesn't take up any space in my apartment.

I love this :) I think I'm going to try something similar with a floor lamp I have -- the lampshade has dents in it from my last move that I'd love to hide somehow.

Would look a lot cuter if all the scraps were from a single color.

I toss all of mine because nearly all manuals can be downloaded from a manufacturer's website these days.

I love them, but they're well out of my price range for that sort of thing.

I love that this post used words like "I" and "me" instead of the royal "we".

Also, cute puppy :)

I recently cleaned out my closet and found that I now have a space to hang my coat! But I don't have any spare hangers :[

Do cats benefit from raised dishes and bowls as well? Just curious since they're so short to begin with.

I do this with a rag and a swiffer. I have a spray bottle full of diluted floor cleaner and I just spray and mop, then wash out the rag when I'm done. It beats going out and buying a separate mop.

I do clean my kitchen floor with just a rag by hand, but my kitchen is tiny and that floor always gets the dirtiest.

I also have the same resin deer head. I painted mine white with gesso:

I took a few quick pictures of the whole kitchen so you can see how weird & small it is!

Wow, thanks for the post & kind words!

I did get those beakers at American Science & Surplus. I love that place.

The kitchen is kind of sparse because it came with a big built-in cupboard on the other side where I store all of my dishes, silverware, pots and pans. It's kind of a weird kitchen in general -- the old-fashioned sink, the massive cupboard, and no counters or cooking surfaces to speak of. Before I bought the rolling cart, I only had the sink counter to prepare food on, which got me in the habit of washing dishes as I cooked so I had room to work.

I'll take a few quick pictures of the whole (tiny) room so you can see where all the "stuff" goes :)

Matt, I agree 100%. I felt like every interior started to look the same after awhile.

I didn't find the magazine to be usefully inspiring. As a poor art director, there was nothing I could really adapt to fit my income.

I never had many DVDs to begin with (maybe 25?), but I sold all but the 2 or 3 I love on half.com, and if feel like I need to watch any of the ones I got rid of, I move it to the top of my Netflix queue.

Netflix has eliminated my need to buy DVDs altogether. I'm not a huge movie buff, though.

This would go in my living room, of course! Or, hmm. Maybe the bedroom. Can't decide, heh.
