The "color experts" say that the bedroom should be in cool colors because they are relaxing. I prefer that my bedroom feel warm and cozy so my room is mostly reds and browns with some splashes of orange. Yummmm!

Violette is right about the correct pronounciation for Chiffonier and Le Creuset, tho there is no emphasis in French, rather you elongate the last syllable a bit.

Chaise Longue is more like "chez long" with a hard "g" at the end.

Trompe l'Oiel is "tromp loy"

The one I hate on design shows is when they say "armoire" as "arm wah" to make it sound more French and thus give themselves some sophistication. It's pronounced pretty much how it's spelled "arm moir". If you want to impress and annoy, throw in a couple of nice French Rs!

I would love to see a blog post on Apartment Therapy about how to use Craig's list (and other sites like it) to find items like you show on Scavenger posts. It's easy to search when you know the name of what you are looking for, but I'd love a post explaining how to narrow things down when you just want to see "tables".

My front door opens into my living room which I haven't addressed yet (my landing strip is along a side wall near the door opposite the rest of my living room). My designer friend suggested making a foyer using a tansu to separate the area off (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_tfGC7tOlrdk/SOQtZ1ClLAI/AAAAAAAAEUk/e7ORowf2rCY/s400/tansu.jpg) I like the idea because it creates a wall, but not one that is so solid that it takes over.

My neighbors have the same setup I have and they put a 5 foot tall bookcase there like a wall...the openings are toward the foyer area so you can dump your stuff there. Another nice piece that you can put in like a wall but have it be more open is an open-backed bookcase like these:

Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Dilemma: When Your Front Door Opens Directly Into Your Living Room

I got my living room in order by setting a date for a party one month ahead. I sent out a save-the-date email to my friends which locked me into that date and then set to work. I made a list of things I needed to accomplish by that date and broke it down into smaller tasks. Essentially I used the potential shame of having a party in a cluttered apartment as my motivation and it worked! I used shame...find out what motivates you.

Along the way I planned out my free time to get things done, did the 15 minute trick to make use of small blocks of time and to keep myself from getting overwhelmed, got a friend to help with some projects and also allowed myself a few cheats (like the two boxes of clutter that I just couldn't get to that got piled neatly in the corner).

I have been craving pink on my living room walls for about a year and my designer friend picked out BM's Peony for me a while ago. I had it painted this fall and I LOOOVE it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kenzilicious/3066299622/in/set-72157610352542542/

My friend is clearly a visionary!

Henna can most definitely be used to dye fabric but not synthetics. Like any natural dye it fades after repeated washings. It will get darker and last longer if it is heat set, preferably with an iron. You can read more about henna and ask any questions you want of other users from around the world here: http://hennatribe.com/forum.php

Also, for clarity's sake, henna on the skin is not a tattoo; tattoo implies piercing the skin where as henna doesn't pierce the skin, it is applied on the surface of the skin and dyes only the layers of dead skin cells. This is why henna stains the darkest on the palms of the hands where the skin if 50 times thicker than anywhere else on the body.
