I've used Armor Etch on small projects - works great, but I wouldn't recommend it for large sheets of glass (like windows).

The film is awesome, and easy to use.

The spray is also awesome, but over large surfaces can get cloudy if you don't spray evenly. I love it, though - and those little trigger-handles you can get for cans of spray paint are a lifesaver (and an arthritis-saver, too).

The happiness clause is the one that works best for me. If it's clothing, do I feel just awesome when I wear it? If not, it goes away. The things in my house: do they make me happy or instill a sense of tranquility when I look at them? If not, they go away.

Know what doesn't make me happy? A bunch of unused junk all over the place. :o)

3rd picture: "Stuff" bin. Hee. I have plastic bins like that in my under-sink counters. It saves SO. MUCH. TIME. finding things.

Lesova - I have one of those frosty-plastic Umbra trash cans in my master bath that's the same color as the walls, so it blends in. I don't use a bag, since all that ever goes in there is paper and cotton and things, though I do wash it out every time I empty it. ...except that my new puppy will NOT stay out of it, so I had to set it up on top of a basket where now it's practically the only thing you see when you walk into the room. I'm going to be getting one of the ones that hangs on the inside of a cabinet door soon instead. :/

If you can paint the steps, I'd paint them black, spray the railing with a fresh coat of black, and plant the bushes people keep mentioning...then paint the front door either a bright royal blue or a warm yelllow.

How beautiful! :)

You know, for 2/3 the cost and half the effort, you could get a plastic medallion and paint it however you wanted. Your Local Big Orange (or Blue) Box Home Improvement Store should have them. 0:)

I had a roommate once who had quite a few, er, "dates" come home with him on a regular basis. I thought he was just being indiscriminate, and didn't say anything, until it got to where he was bringing so many people home that I didn't feel safe in my own apartment, never knowing who was there or when he would show up with yet another person I didn't know.
When I spoke to him about it, I found out he was a prostitute. >_<

I *love* that Ikea frame. I've been lusting after it for over a year now, and am headed out to get my very own TOMORROW. Yay!

I hadn't thought of painting it, though. I think I'm going to make mine into a clock. :)

I do the bay leaf thing in my rice canisters - also my flour, sugar, pasta, cereal, etc. It works really well, although I did start by throwing everything out, cleaning the HECK out of the canisters, counters, entire kitchen, and then starting over.

You can also apply a very thin coating of veggie oil to the bottom edge of each container with your finger, which will keeps weevils (and ants!) from crawling from the counter up into the jar in the first place - they won't/can't cross the oil barrier. It leaves rings on your countertop, but, that's better than bugs, right? At least for a while until they give up trying.

When I go camping, I take spices for campfire cooking in little round stackable bead organizers like this one:

If you have a plastic crate (not a metal cage-type one), you can also prime it with spray paint and then either spray or hand-paint it to match your wall color. I've done that with my two large crates, and it helps blend them into the background visually.

Ooh, love it - I actually dislike this style, but it's so well done in this house, and works so well with the old farmhouse architecture, that it looks amazing!

Does anyone know, what is the painting on the wall in the dining room picture? I've googled the artists mentioned in the post, but can't seem to find it. Anyone?
