When did apartment therapy become the marketplace and showroom for knockoffs? If you're going to tell me that an Ikea 'tulip' table is comparable to an original Saarinen tulip table manufactured by Knoll Studio, then my head's going to explode.

True, the Knoll table is many times more expensive, but I plan on keeping it for awhile. I plan on only having one. My brother, whose owned several of the Ikea tables (because they break) is more concerned with "the look", whereas I'm concerned with durability, among other things.

This renovation is beautiful. I agree with most of the commenters in that this tile is gorgeous and is in fact one of my favorites. @pyrexmaniac, Heath ceramics was a typical supplier in the fifties and sixties and is this not incorrect for this application.

I echo the other commenters in that you can find lcw's on Craigslist if you are vigilant and patient. I found two walnut lcw's for 400 each. Happy hunting!

Agreed! Gold is great and I've always tried to incorporate it into my space. My living room is raw, with concrete floors and off-white walls, and the floor to ceiling gold windowpane drapes set everything off nicely.

Gold is the perfect accent to dark woods and pale walls so popular in modern spaces because it adds a warmth that is sorely lacking in silver colored metals.
