well, the point is not the meal costing $20, even if it's $10 if whoever is paying for it feels taken advantage of, it needs to be communicated.

Before DH and I got married, we lived together for at least 4 years (or more). Like some of the previous replies, we split the bills by him paying for rent + utilities and me paying for groceries, other stuff. When we go out he usually pays, though I pay too sometimes depending on my mood (lol..). It probably was not an even split of money, but to us it feels fairly even and we didn't feel like nickle-diming each other for the expenses. I guess we always knew we'd get married at some point so from that stand point, our money will be joint and it really doesn't matter who pays for what, we plan the budget as a whole between 2 of us and splitting everything evenly / evenly according to usage is just silly IMHO.

One interesting things I've tried out is "pickling" the paperwhites, essentially using small amount of alcohol in the water so dawf them so they don't grow too tall and fall over in its own weight. Love the idea! My concern though is would Lack support weight of a person if I were to sit on it and read and such... I am about 120 lb.

We have a tylosand sofa for about 2 years now. While what lizziepeony said is somewhat true that the cushions don't exactly stay put, we have not had it move more than an inch or two out in a period of a week or two, and nothing so drastic as completely falling off the sofa. Granted it's not the best constructed sofa, to me it looks pretty alright and for under $1k what do you really expect?

I use used dryer sheets to dust cabinets and dresser tops. It does a fairly ok job picking up the dust but not sure how effective it is compare to commercial products like swiffer and such. It doesn't "keep them from multiplying" by any means though :P I wish!!

The most difficult part I found was when poking the needle from the front, through the fabric/batting, then through the drilled hole. My measured spots from the front and the measure holes on the board never quite lined up right and I had to poke several times to find the pre-drilled hole... It's quite a pain :( Did you have the same problem? How did you solve it? TIA!

I just tried the basil scented dishwash. It does not smell like the real basil at all, in fact it smells rather artificial compare to the other great scents Mrs. Meyers have. My favorite is still lavender.
