I know this is a wee bit off topic and I'm sorry to report, but what's going on in that closet/room with all that junk in the background? Clean up a bit, a tidy house helps foster a tidy mind.

As soon as I saw the photo of this wall art I thought back to an early episode of Mary Tyler Moore where Rhoda redecorates Lou Grants apartment and includes a huge poster of the number 5. A poster or a original work of art?? Anyways I guess this was popular in the 70's.

please help me find the house tour, of a loft featured maybe a month ago, that included a picture of the owner on the last picture. There were many comments about this tour including a debate about how much he spent on the loft, how many pink shirts he had in his closet and how the owner was good looking. He had a framed B & W photo of hands holding something with a shelf below and a large abstract painting that looked like a Pollock. He may be from Boston or Chicago?Does anyone remember?

My guess is that it's part of the central ventilation of the building. I'd see if there was a way to leave some space so the vent can still pull air in though.

Your furniture placement looks good, so what I would say is move the cat one foot to the left.

When I look at the pictures of the Oval office all I can think about is all the damage to the world that has been done in that room for the last eight years.

That burn doesn't look as bad as Paige Davis in pok-a-dot red heels. Please girl, call a wardrobe stylist. Sorry everyone, but I've been thinking that all day.

Thank you everyone for such wonderful comments. To answer some questions: The branches, I cut from the oak were touching the roof of my home and damaging the shingles so they needed to be removed. I took one large branch, stood it on end and placed two smaller branches in the areas where they were needed to create a nice shape and to make it look full. I used a cordless screw gun and 3 inch drywall screws to connect the branches together. I held the tree in the pot and wedged large rocks around the trunk to keep it in place then filled in with crushed rock. If I do this again I may use plaster of paris to anchor the tree because the weight of the ornaments made the tree shift slightly. I'm thinking about storing the tree in the open rafters of my garage.
Thanks again everyone and Happy holidays!
Bill

I had a friend tell me about this mouse catching technique. I didn't do it myself so I can't say if it really works. ( I have a cat). Get a 2 liter plastic soda bottle. Fill it with as many food items that a mouse would eat. Lay it on its side in a area where the mouse will find it. Theory is that the mouse will squeeze into the bottle and eat for hours and not be able to get back out. Take the bottle 5 miles away (goodnightdean) into a open field and when the mouse loses weight he will be able to get out and live in the country. Totally humane if it works.

I love your curtain panels over your sliding glass door! It's a great idea that really livens up the old fashioned drapery. Where did you get it?? Did you add the panels or did you have them made? I would like to find the rods and make the panels myself so I can change then often. Please tell!

When the wall is closed up the toliet is directly over the serving counter and bakery case. Hmmmmmmmmm? I'm sure they have worked out this problem so the toliet doesn't leak.

Richele, Save yourself some money by visiting used restaurant supply stores. In the past I have seen many different booth configurations and banquette benches ripped out of closed restaurants. You may have to reupolster though. Good luck.

As my Grandmother would say "this should be your worst problem". Your log walls are beautiful. They really stand out in white. If I were to add anything to them it would be small paintings in chunky black frames stacked 3 high. Is there any way we could talk you into doing a photo tour? I would love to see the rest of your home.

I also agree, DWR is not really in reach for me. I found a room divider from American Signature Furniture in hard wood that has the same look as the Cubits. Nine cubes with drawers and cabinets on the bottom for $499.http://www.ashome.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10101&catalogId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=22266&productId=58625&roomName=&parentCatId=22416&collectionId=11773

I was once a set stylist for film and tv shows and I would get my 2" blinds from a lady named Cher in Minnesota who would make the blinds by hand in her shop. The blinds were always excellent quality at a resonable price. Yaa you betcha! (minnesota slang) Gopher state Venetian Blind Inc. (763)780-2267 or gopherstateblind.com
