Under load, these should all be reduced, but the lithium more so.
Also, the bottom of the graph not being zero grossly distorts the differences between the batteries.

Solar power is cool, but cooler still would be putting a plant there and not buying a plastic toy you'll throw away in a few years ;)

But this knife lacks a santoku's indentations on the blade which prevent things from sticking. It has the santoku shape, but it's not a santoku without those indentations.

$330 for 128GB seems like a lot, but with 8GB cards for ~$1/GB, $3/GB for cutting edge doesn't isn't that big a deal. 32GB cards for $60-$100 should last a pro a full event's worth shooting RAW. (Also [cough] whoever comped that shot needs to have his/her Photoshop license revoked!)

Great post, and if I may suggest another-- if food is being served buffet style and some dishes contain gluten, do try to (1) keep them separate and make sure the serving utensils don't migrate, but also (2) ask you gluten-free guests if they would like to go first to avoid any unintended cross-contamination by other guests serving themselves.

Also, vinegars have been proven to be safe:

Go for induction-- safer than gas or electric, and as fast-acting as gas. I have a Supenton 1300W unit that works great.

QueenOfTheFall, you end up using much less toilet paper since the water stream takes care of most of the business. Compared to the gallons used in the flush, the stream doesn't use very much water at all, and it likely avoids dreaded multi-flush situations where the sitter may use a lot of paper (and never really get *clean*).

Please stop using this template.
Clicking on the picture of the (presumably cold) bottle stirring the pot should take the reader somewhere, but as it is, the reader has to figure out which link's text describes the interesting-looking image. It seems to be "How to Cool Soup Quickly with an Ice Paddle" but the picture's link should go there; as it is, it goes NOWHERE.

I have a Brondell Swash (800) and it's just fantastic. I got it after a trip to Thailand where every toilet has a simple sprayer on a hose, the type that North Americans are used to seeing in the kitchen.

It's an obvious but strangely rare modern hygenic solution: what else do you "clean" with dry paper?!

Bidet seats or sprayers like this may be useful for re-nesters with fragile old plumbing: they reduce the amount of toilet paper needed.

Add some dry mustard powder to accentuate ginger flavor without getting it too burny. Sounds crazy, but it works.

Curious if you have any recs for wireless headphones? I've tried Motorola S805 and S305 and both underwhelm. Sony DRBT21 look interesting. Why so few options given how many iPhones, iPod Touches, and iPads can stream wirelessly?!

Great hack! Fits in very nicely with the coffee table. Though not cheap and not a hack, you could beat the system and get a Logitech Harmony remote control. Their build quality is less than stellar, and setup is slightly annoying, but once you've had a half dozen components controlled by one remote, you'll never go back to juggling remotes.

While undoubtedly one of the most exciting looking fruits out there, it may be the most boring in terms of flavor. Great to look at, but not so great to eat, unfortunately.

Gotta have a selection! Crystal, Trappey's, Louisiana, Frank's, Tapatio, Cholula, Melinda's, Sriracha, and Tabasco are kicking around my kitchen now. Can't find the sambal at the moment but it's here somewhere.

Heat and spice fiends should keep a can of Tony Chachere's around too, also peppers in vinegar, which is especially good in soups or on beans.

Exchanging phone numbers *early* (like, right away) helps since it makes you a real person, not some internet entity. If you can speak on the phone, even better. I'll often include this in a post, seems to cut down on flakers:
"Please reply with a phone number and I will call you back right away.
This post will be removed when [the item] is spoken for."
And the best thing about a phone number is that when somebody does flake (and somebody will!), you can call them and tell them you can't keep waiting. Or, more likely, leave a message since the flaker won't answer :)
