Hi Stacey,

So sorry about that! I found this on another site (they must have snagged it from yours) and assumed it was their photo, hence the faulty credit. I've updated the post to credit you. Thanks for letting us know!

Best,
Susie

@aurorakooba -

Julie says the white couch is from Shabby Chic. Unfortunately they're out of business now. Doesn't it look comfy?

Anyone know a good source for similar slipcovered couches now that Shabby Chic is no more?

The etched bathroom mirror is one of my favorite details, actually. I love how it softens the space.

@selene -

If you're referring to the desk in the first photo, I'm pretty sure it's an Ikea glass top with two Ikea wooden sawhorses. I've used this set-up as a desk for years. Very convenient, and inexpensive!

Thanks for the nice comments about our rug, everyone! It came from Nomad Rugs on 24th Street in Noe Valley here in San Francisco. He has an amazing selection.

@legallybrunette, that's a bummer. Sometimes mold in a terrarium is caused by overwatering, or too much moisture buildup inside the vessel... if it happens again, you can try loosening the lid to get some ventilation going.

Sarah, this intro made me laugh! I am right there with you! Everything seems like a piece of cake until the hour before and then I'm a nutcase barking orders at my husband. You are so right... simplifying is key.

Tee hee.

@Careen,

Risotto is great for leftovers - actually you can make it into little patties and pan-fry them in just a bit of olive oil for a nice side dish. Unfortunately it doesn't freeze very well, as the rice becomes mushy.

@no accounting for taste,

You pose a good question. It seems to me that if you will be happier in your bedroom once the loft system is dismantled, you should do it... but maybe consider what you are giving up and how each thing will affect your lifestyle.

It sounds like giving up the exercise machine is a good move. If you are a runner and you only use the elliptical once a week, maybe it's not worth it to keep it around. Those machines are incredibly bulky, and they take up a lot of "mental" space too, in that they are constant reminders of an item on your "to-do" list.

Giving up the television may also be a good choice; having a TV in the bedroom can be a distraction from getting good sleep. That being said, it's a very personal choice. If you really want to keep the television in your room, you could always explore a wall-mount option, which would get it out of the way.

It sounds like keeping the loft system is untenable, as it makes the space uncomfortable for you. So why not remove it, put the exercise machine, television, and dog crate in your outbox (in other words - get them out of the room), arrange the room without them, and then decide whether you want to bring any of the three items back. At that point you can consider creative solutions for re-integrating these things if you so choose. (A smaller bed, for instance, might be an option?)

I hope this is helpful! Good luck!

@sfsuperstar, thank you! That is so helpful, and indeed it looks like the flea market will go on... I will update this post and possibly post about this again later to keep everyone informed.

Indeed, it does seem there is some kind of dispute holding things up... but I spoke with someone at the company that promotes the flea market and they are working on it to try and make it happen on Sunday. I am waiting for confirmation and will update you all later on.

@harlie, that is so strange -- the banner was there earlier! Just saw that Anh-Minh wrote about it today too... I wonder if they only had the message up for one day! I'll continue to look into it and report back...

I intended to imply that the side tables listed mimic the basic design of the PaperClip table. Apologies if this is unclear.

Jeez, sorry to offend, Jezebella, but I was exaggerating the story for effect, teasing myself for feeling proprietary about the rocks. My mom and I are always trading stuff back and forth -- cookware, candlesticks -- so I'm sure the rocks will end up back on her sideboard at some point.
