Slightly different, but I like the salt plus sesame seed oil dipping sauce that I sometimes get at Korean BBQ places. I'm not sure which order of meat (grilled at your table) brings this out, because I don't see it all the time. Try This! Dipping Salts With Fried Foods |

@metallauren, it's possibly because the plant is spending all its energy into growing big and growing out (root system and runners) and so not concentrating on producing great minty leaves. While I've never seen mint go to seed (it's usually propagated by cuttings), I imagine that if it's left alone for long enough to grow unchecked, maybe it went to seed without notice? Just a wild guess. The Do's & Don'ts of Growing Mint |

I'm not sure I would even place a container of mint on the ground without some kind of barrier between the drainage holes and the soil, so I wouldn't recommend just digging a hole for the pot in the ground either. My container of chocolate mint was a tentacle monster, and if it were on or near soil, those runners would eventually have reached it. And sinking a pot with no drainage holes would probably not be good for the roots. The Do's & Don'ts of Growing Mint |

The way distributors of media want to control the various markets for digital products is fucking ridiculous, frankly! I'm looking at you, region-locked movies and games! And I fear the same for ebooks. Why It's Difficult to Buy eBooks While Traveling |

Black pots for plants can get too hot in the summer heat. Also, wouldn't this defeat one of the big advantages of terracotta pots (their breathability)? Roots like to breath! Easy Afternoon Project: Chalkboard Plant Pots |

I would love a large sink. One of the things holding me back on getting a bigger cutting board, or anything else, is "will it fit in the sink or dishwasher?" question. We have a cast iron (heavy!!) wok that doesn't quite fit in our small squarish apartment sink, and it is a pain in the ass to wash. I never use it. Oversized Sinks In The Kitchen & Bathroom |

@Rob do you mean why don't I access the websites via Wifi vs apps? Or do you mean just do everything through wifi vs 3g? I don't find free/open wifi everywhere I go. I do sometimes check things while out and about using 3g if I need to. I guess by far I spend enough time on the computer, which I don't mind, so it doesn't bother me wait until I'm back on a computer to check something. Do You Go Online More Often With a Smartphone? |

Not really. Don't have unlimited data (too expensive and isn't truly "unlimited"), so I'm way too conscious of using 3g for data. Turning on the desktop computer is usually among the first things I do in the morning, including going to the toilet, brushing teeth, drinking a glass of water, etc. Do You Go Online More Often With a Smartphone? |

It would probably be better off for the website in general if those who disagree with critics and their criticism be more constructive with their calling out beyond "Wow, you guys are kind of jerks. If you don't like the site anymore, you can just leave quietly." Hardly helpful -- and I do still think it's helpful for the website to be aware of the reasons why viewers are unhappy. I never got the whole "you can just leave" attitude that seems pervasive lately (not just here). Table Tip: Fold Your Napkins Right Out of the Dryer! |

I came across an interesting grass-free yard during a walk in a SoCal neighborhood. At a distance, it looks like it's just another grassy front yard. But the closer we got, the more it was apparently not quite grass. Turns out it was some kind of succulent (a type of sedum?) that came out as short tendrils of green leaves (no brown), and covered the whole yard outside of the walkway. It looked really great. Maybe someday I'll go back and take a picture of it. Outdoor Inspiration: Front Yard Farms & Grass-Free Gardens |

I think you can pretty much grow anything in containers, but some things will require a lot of room (like tomatoes and anything growing on vines like squash), and some things won't produce enough to be worthwhile (like corn). Just make sure you use good, well-draining potting mix, and containers with good drainage holes. Gardening 101: Six Spring Vegetables to Plant Now The Gardener |
