I completely agree with Rosaak...indian cuisine is so varied and vast that with a constant floating population (jobs, migration etc)...we get every kind of food everywhere in india now..just that there is a hint of the local flavour in the dish(from a diff place) :)

pressure cook a batch with a little salt..and u will never go back to canned ones....a few varieties dont need to be pre soaked too....just try

yes i do...I mix lentils and split corn and add in diff kinds of seeds..also can use wheat and millet flour to make small dough balls...birds love it a lot..just mix water and get it to the consistency of a crumbly dough and make small batches

i am put off by the whole idea of tree farms...wont it be better if that patch is put to better use or maybe left alone naturally

we have scheduled power cuts in india and also water shortage...having seen both, i prefer the loss of power

as much as i love the banana leaves, the picture itself shows the contrast we in india are not wanting to see...the piles of plastic cups, trays, and cutlery used recklessly...i wish we went back to times when there were no disposables in india
