My all time favorite sweet/savory meal is Cinnamon Short Rib Parpadelle. The buttery, salty bite of short rib layered with sweet, spicy cinnamon makes such a lovely fall dinner. I first started brining when the kitchn mentioned it earlier this spring. I never would have guessed, but it makes a world of difference. I love this Catalonian Pork Chops with Plums recipe: http://www.clovesandcream.com/2009/05/catalonian-pork-chops-plums.html. Cinnamon, red wine reduction & plums give the chops a rich, spicy body. Added bonus: it takes less than 30 minutes kitchen to table! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Juicy Plums: Eight Lovely Dishes To Make With Plums |

I've been digging this BBLT, that is, Basil, Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato spread with tangy goat cheese. Teamed up with cool gazpacho they're pretty hard to beat. I love plopping a spoonful or two into stir-frys. The sweetness mellows out & you're left with a nice, smooth buttery texture & just a hint of peanut. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Ingredient Spotlight: What Can You Do With Peanut Butter? |

I've been digging this uber quick roasted red pepper & tomato gazpacho. Best of all, it only takes about 5 minutes to make! Yep, that's right only 5 minutes. We've all got time for that, right? Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's Your Favorite No-Heat Meal? |

Olives. All varieties sent me running, but the greatest offender in my childhood mind was defiantly a green olive stuffed with pimento - yuck! Olives promised to ruin any good pizza & leave a bitter taste. Now, I could happily plop down with nothing but a jar & a toothpick & much away. One of my favorite ways to enjoy tomatoes is slow roasted. In fact, I've got a batch in the oven right now. Just set your oven to a low temperature (250F or so), quarter your tomatoes, drizzle 'em with olive oil, s & p, & pop them in. Let them cook for 4 hours or so & you've got some seriously yummy tomatoes. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | 12 Juicy Tomato Recipes for August Evenings Summer Recipe Roundup |

My all-time favorite cheese desert, aside from a killer slice of cheese cake, are chocolate cream cheese truffles. They're incredibly easy to me -- I started making them as a child -- they're super chocolaty & they have just a bit of tang from the cheese. Here are two takes on the basic recipe (one with bacon!!) Here are some of my favorite ways to use mint: Chevre Mint Cream Pasta with Eggplant, Garlic Mint Grilled Chicken & Grapefruit Basil Mint Salad. Mint is great with deserts too. Try melting some dark chocolate & dipping the leaves in. Let them harden for a bit & voila, dessert! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | How Can I Use More of My Fresh Mint? Good Question |

Nothing beats a good cobbler, but if you're in a pinch, a crumble (close cousin to the cobbler) is great. It can be whipped up in under thirty minutes, calls for minimal ingredients & demands little effort. Mmm, Stroganoff is so satisfying. I like to swap out the traditional egg noodles for pappardelle (a long flat egg noodle).
