I like people with loads of clothes and I´d be happy with a nice wine collection!

But to me this place misses personality. It doesn´t look like a home filled with stuff that people collected over the years out of love. It comes across as a helpless attempt present loads of stuff to make the place look interesting.

I had a look at the nursery. Unlike the rest of the apartment it isn´t filled with pieces that are meant to look like "creative collector´s items". Much worse, it looks like a sterile showroom. No personality, nothing unique to be seen at all. What a pity!

Lots of them seem either too rustic or a bit too cool. What a pity!

Not my cuppa tea at all. I don´t really like anything about it too much. But you can see that they put some thought and work into their home, and that is great.

I was following the contest online from Germany but then went travelling to places with no internet connection (what a luxury this was!), so I only found out now who won the thing.

I am really surprised the contest went that way. Tastes are different... and I didn`t really LOVE any of the three windows. But I feel the winner is by far the weakest work. But maybe this is just my European point of view. I also always find the US-ElleDecoration boring/tacky and when compared to the UK edition or other European design magazines it es really uninspiring. I always get the feeling it is somehwere between Architectural Digest and a mailorder catalogue...

But as I say: Tastes are different and if people liked it, then that´s okay with me.

I would never do my own house this way, but I do see how beautiful and warm it is! Great job!

To be honest, I find the place a little cool and not inspiring at all. It looks like a catalogue to me and not like a genuine home.

I like the seperate components, but the result looks as if it was put together within a week. I like home to grow and develope.

But: each to their own!

I´m afraid I agree with the last comment. The colours look to bright, not italian at all. It looks like in the 80ies, when people tried to add a mediterranean flair to their city rentals in the Europe or the US.

Maybe sort of McItalia?
