My husband and I had a New Year's Eve party a few years ago. The evening was coming to an end and a friend (who had apparently had a bit too much to drink) had gone out for cigarettes and ended up bringing some guy back with her that had given her directions to the nearest bodega. Almost everyone else had gone home and we didn't know how to ask him to leave. It was all very awkward, but he eventually got the hint and left. Technically he was invited, just not by the hosts.

That's so funny. Saw photos of this loft in a book on NY lofts that a friend gave me and I was so sure it was the one used in Ghost. I think it was the stairs that gave it away.

I've had this for a while now (but haven't used it since I sliced a chunk of my thumb off). My biggest complaint is that the finger guard thing doesn't really grip what you're slicing very well. And since most of what I've used it for were not tomatoes, the guard would go flying forward without actually moving the vegetable over the blade because of the resistance.

I agree with Spirit in the City. If you felt the need to ask the question, it obviously makes you uncomfortable. I would pass on the place.

The other problem with this survey is that the price ranges repeat numbers. So, my husband and I pay $2000/month for a one bedroom in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. I checked off the $1500-$2000 choice, but I could have also checked off $2000-$3000. That skews the results quite a bit I would think.

Like DawnMarie, I can't help but think I might want/need things later, even if I don't use/like/wear them now. It's rare that I dig something out that I put away for future use, but it has happened on occasion.

Back in college I slept on the sidewalk near Washington Square Park. It was with a group of students to raise awareness for homelessness and it was mid-October I think. Really cold and uncomfortable. I don't think I got much sleep at all, but it was a really interesting experience.

I know you're trying to avoid painting, but I'd repaint the trim white and go for a gold/yellow/tan color for the walls (like the color in the painting). Or just repaint the trim white and use that yellow color in throw pillows or some other accessory.
